You can shit on BSD and its license all you want but at the end of the day companies which use it do actually contribute back to the ecosystem.

Sony did share some code a few times. You can't expect them to show you their proprietary code for the console. It would increase the amount of piracy and basically kill their console market, which would be retarded since they're the only relevant home console in most countries.

They could do something like release the sources of the PS1/PS2, though. Like idsoftware did with idtech.
