Can't keep them happy, I'd say just don't give them any money because that's so bad, and exploit their freely available code maximally without contributing back at all. No it doesn't, just use free software others made without changing code which would require sharing changes back. That also is preferred path of freetards who hate idea of corporations making proprietary software and also hate idea of corporations putting their slimy tentacles to codebase.
