Many companies and organizations host their own gitlab instance. Public git hosts are really only useful for backing up personal projects or muh open source participation which no one on this board does anyway.

In my opinion Gitlab is bloat, terrible UI, complex to manage and setup. Gogs/Gitea is like, run file, instant success. Nice and fast. Easy for users. Everyone could have their own Github clone in 10 minutes including buying a VPS. Gitlab.. not so much.

Looks like gogs loads faster, and I have to admit it looks better too, even if by a small insignificant margin. Is it the anti-bloat? I hope it can be considered bloat-free on the admin side as well (i.e. easy to set up, configure, etc). Gitlab is certainly shit compared to these.
