How to make a bootable usb drive

trying to put linux lite on a usb install on my kids computer.
Any tips? using windows for the disk creation

I always use the freeware tool RUFUS to create bootable USB keys/drives from an ISO image on windows. It’s very easy to use, reliable and if you want you can check the integrity of the copied data also.
