Yes, the Swedes don't care anymore. But that doesn't matter: he violated his bail conditions in Britbongistan, and now there's an arrest warrant for him for that, regardless of the resolution of the original situation that led to him being enmeshed in the legal system in the first place.
The punishment for evading his bail conditions would be relatively minor, but that's not the issue. The issue is that as soon as he's in custody, a U.S. grand jury will set in motion a series of events that would likely lead to his extradition to the U.S., where he'd spend the rest of his life in an SCU unit in a Federal penitentiary.
The police have now spent millions of pounds on 24/7 physical and electronic surveillance of the Ecuadorian embassy, as well as a 24/7 police presence in order to nab him if he steps foot outside the embassy. At this point, there's no way they're going to let it go. Barring something out of a Hollywood movie like smuggling him out in a giant diplomatic pouch (lol), I see this ending in one of a few ways:
