BOYCOTT INTERNET ARCHIVE

Oliver Allen
Oliver Allen

My story:

Last night, I uploaded in regards to the 2019 Christchurch Massacre the Facebook Live stream, the manifesto, and the PDF archived thread.

The Internet Archive removed the video of the 2019 Christchurch Massacure without notice. I emailed them asking why, and told them my intent to reupload. I did. When I woke up this morning, the video was taken down again. I discovered shortly after my account had been locked. I emailed a second time to inquire. Shortly after this email, I discovered that both the manifesto and the archived thread have been set to "required to log-in to view" and have been Geologically censored. The Metadata says France is the region it is not able to be viewed. This does not make sense.

I have sent three emails and not received a single reply. I decided to wait until now for a reply, because I expected now to be a reasonable deadline. They have not replied. As of now, the two remaining files are still censored, and the video is still deleted. I am still unable to log into my Internet Archive account. With this, I am hereby announcing a boycott of the Internet Archive until they stop this censorship!

Spread these flyers, I have contacted multiple media outlets about this censorship, as well as persons involved in high-tech cases such as the EFF whom I hope will side with me and help participate in this boycott. I hope to make a difference. I am but one man, and need help.

The URLs of the files that remain are here:

I agree that an organization that is about archiving and cataloguing human history shouldn't be censoring information, especially information and evidence of such an important contemporary event, but this is futile - even if you did make some nice fliers for it

Yall are newfags, archive.org is a nsa ran operation and has been for years. If you want something archived save it offline and printed out on high quality paper with a printer that doesn't use the shit quality ink they sell nowadays or fuck off.

Ryder Brown
Ryder Brown

ink on paper is a more reliable way of archiving information than a duplicated raid6 array of spin drives
Please don't post on this board again

Jackson Walker

Yes, we already know that they take stuff down. That's the reason why you see links to of archive.fo instead.

raid drives that can be kill by emp unless left in energygapped cage and will still experience bitrot over time and last about 40-100 years best case scenario if undisturbed by people
museum quality paper printed with high quality ink that is then laminated twice that will last unexposed to the sun in a cool place for 200-500 years easily
I guess it depends on what you are preserving. If you are preserving anime tiddies then the paper route is best. If you are preserving hundreds of millions of lines of code then hdd is better. Generally though paper is going to be better for things normalfags such as yourself want to preserve though.

Learn from past victories user.

History tells us there are more effective ways to extend the reach of content on the internet. Case in point, Project Chanology. The Church of Scientology kept censoring uploads of the Zenu incident. Basically Scientology lawyers told sites they were going to sue if the content wasn't taken down do to copyright. The anonymous collective, mostly /b/tards from 4chan at that point, went on a rampage of uploading to every site that would possibly host the videos resulting in the videos and platforms being to numerous for Scientology to track down. Meaning Scientology could not mount a successful censorship campaign. A lot can be learned from this.

Point don't worry about archive and where they whether they will accept certain types of content. An obvious work around for this is to add a couple of minute of bullshit like a movie intro to the beginning of the video. Change the format, checksum, name, and description of the file and create numerous version of it.

Later in 2012 when people got really worried about internet censorship? People were really worried about TPD going down and torrents being lost. People didn't even bother trying to save TPB because they knew it was a sinking ship. They just took the SQL dump from TPB and put up more torrent sites. If you look at top 500 on traffic ranking sites a fair number of the most visited sites on the internet are file sharing sites.

Also Tom Cruise left Scientology. Not that anyone should give a shit.

Also ironically anons used the officially licensed Warner Bros V For Vendetta version of the Guy Fawkes mask to protest copyright claims.

Jackson Morgan

Note that 127.0.0.1 also resolves to the local machine. If you want it to resolve to nothing use 192.0.2.10 or similar. (the usual argument given to prefer 0.0.0.0 is that it's faster. But why do you care about speed when blocking something? You might as well use an address that doesn't exist)

Nicholas Green
Nicholas Green

You should have it point to nothing, not a live machine. Ideally, you should just block it in your DNS server so that it's like the domain doesn't even exist.

Read the ToS before uploading you entitled faggot:
We reserve the right, but do not have the obligation, to act expeditiously to remove or disable access to any User Provided Content that we believe, in our sole discretion, violates this Agreement or is illegal, obscene, indecent, or defamatory, incites racial or ethnic hatred, or violates the rights of others, and we may terminate your use of the Service in these circumstances.
This isn't the first time they removed content for racial hatred reasons, actual allahu akbars were using their services for communication and that got b&.
I respect your quest for non-censorship but archive.org was never the place for it. Like anonymous fawkesanon said, you want to rely on the Hydra effect. There are clearnet sites that can and will host those forever. archive.org is not one.

Pig disgusting. Archival quality paper that is stored properly will last 500+ years without covering it in plastic that will have unknown long-term effects. Plenty of books published by Johannes Gutenberg and others around the same time still exist and are in good condition. They are not laminated.

Juan Reed
Juan Reed

without covering it in plastic that will have unknown long-term effects.
This is true but you can't know till you try it. It helps preserve papers in excess of 20 ish years tested. But plastics weren't a industry for non kikes 500 years ago so there's no info available to us on its long term affects.
Plenty of books published by Johannes Gutenberg and others around the same time still exist and are in good condition.
Johannes (((Gutenberg)))
implying that kikes aren't lieing about history and those books are made up bullshit in the last 100 years.
implying you shouldn't laminate for pictures when (((he))) supposedly just made text books.
The trick to laminating it is to let the ink dry out properly and be in a moderately humidity enviroment when laminating. If its too dry then sunlight exposure will cause it to decay faster. If its too wet it will mold/discolor over time for pictures. Follow it up by making sure the laminator leaves absolutely no air bubbles inside the paper as those can be pockets of moisture or dryness.

If such material alone were truly enough to encourage people to commit violent acts, then perhaps. For a great number of reasons, however, that is not the case.

There are certainly hundreds of people out there who support the actions of the shooter, and they are able to use their own platforms to host the video and document. If you were hosting the content on your own website, you would be giving a platform of speech to the shooter and anyone who supports him-- potentially inciting more violence-- and the same applies for Archive.org. The difference between it being hosted on a site like Archive.org, Facebook or Youtube versus some backroad of the Web is that no one would pay them any attention.

Andrew Green

Probably not:
web.hypothes.is/sponsors/

You have to keep in mind the scale of an operation required to serve the amount of content necessary for an archiving service. It's pretty much mandatory for them to rely on large donations from partisan third parties. In some senses archive.org is not at fault for their censorship, as I'm sure they have the same sort of raw-deal relating to sponsors, but it's still unfortunate to see them not stand up for the preservation of information. As long as these sites are forced to rely on sponsors who care about maintaining orthodoxy more than preserving an archive of human history your best bet is to spend a grand or so building a redundant raid or zfs array and archive what you find important and worth preserving. Though in comparison with a site like archive.org it's quite difficult to share your own archive with other people and preserve knowledge in the minds of the masses, it's better than it being lost to the sands of time

I'm getting real sick and tired of normalfags and various concern trolls always flooding into places that are known hangouts of people that hold views outside of the norm and demanding censorship any time some user goes full IRL shitpost. The last couple of days have been insufferable.

There are so many tools available even on this piece of shit imageboard that barely functions. You can hide threads, you can ignore posts primarily to do with politics, you can fuck off and go to any number of hug boxes where it's against the rules to hurt anyone's feelz. But instead they come to places like this and demand everything they do not like be censored. They always use the same excuses and arguments that all boil down to: "Think of the children!". They won't stop until every place that allows open discourse is shoa'd.

I've grown sick of it and I know so have many other people. It's the entire reason that Brenton faggot snapped and others with snap. When every popular platform outright censors anything that might hurt someone's feelz people start seeking out alternative places to discuss those topics. They end up here with a bunch of other anons that have learned the the state of the world truly is worse than you could even imagine. Of course they're going to lash out. Do you honestly think banning /pol/ and its offshoots will prevent this? Do you honestly think they won't come for your favorite board next? Do you honestly think if 8ch was to go offline forever starting today that those anons wouldn't build or seek out other communities and eventually find each other again?

those "bunkers" you speak of would have no users and thus no discussion
They're already filled with good discussion. Less users always means more effort posting. Faggots that complain about the speed of posting are always the people typically out of the loops.

If this place was to go offline right now the same that happens always will: People will spread out. Some with the know how and ability would put something up that anons can use. Over time one will become the new popular gathering place and the rest would be regulated to bunker status and some dedicated anons. New communities, norms, and memes will form. It has happened multiple times in the past and it will happen again. Lots of anons have already left 8ch and gotten a head start.

censor server side
First the server is not neccessary for IPFS as you can bootstrap off of clients. Secondly the server can be changed to one that the IPFS devs don't control such as a dedicated noncensorable archive.
censor client side
You encapsulate your traffic in something like obfs4 and that goes away. As for the content itself what's the NSA going to do, collect all the information they can download off that one user's archive server and all its clients and then not share it? Whatever it downloaded would have already been available by some other user. Just make sure there's always six seeders of the content, the nsa, the gchq, huweii, the russian spy service, (((the kikes))), the original seeders, and one user. That way if all the above besides anons censored the content it would still be shared.
You do realise that all those mainstream platforms, twitter, jewtube, and plebbit have bots that auto whatever. Get off those mainstream platforms and the only thing left is humans and the a.i. What you are seeing is reality instead of a deception. That and look at the benefits to alex jones, by posting on bitchute his content won't be censored as easily and be available to whoever looks for it. Vs on youtube no one would have the video unless they forced themselves to save it offline and then uploaded it somewhere like bitchute, which the content creator could have just started with to begin with.

Still manages to draw massive crowds at college campuses even though he has nothing of importance to say.
It's alot less than he used to.

10 million dollar net worth, broadcasts on 100 AM and FM stations, 2+ million listener base, has his own website/platform.
You're just throwing out static numbers, not trends.

If censorship works how come his fan base continues to grow?
It grows yes, but at a slower rate and existing fans will increasingly have to go to greater lengths to get the content until it's no longer worth the effort.

No one cares about Incels.
Not an argument.

Soccer mom censorship is not the same as government or even big-3 censorship.

You don't know history. Gorby dismantled the counter-intelligence system and censorship bureaus, it was only then that propaganda by western governments and financial elites could go beyond being a fringe phenomenon. (((George Soros))) himself funded intelligentsia members such as authors, directors, journalists and even politicians through NGOs to manufacture consent for anticommunism in the former SSRs.
China had the good sense to ban him and other "charitable" individuals from the western upper class to create their network of thinktanks and associated structures of media control. The Communist Party Party of China simply struck down the CIA-backed "moderate rebels" in 1989 unlike the CPSU, consolidated its control and remains in power to this day.

You're just throwing out static numbers, not trends.
The numbers matter and the trend is his base continues to grow. People are leaving MSM sources and he's one of the first things they run into on the way to finding /pol/ and other places similar to /pol/.
It grows yes
Thanks for disproving your last point.
but at a slower rate and existing fans will increasingly have to go to greater lengths to get the content until it's no longer worth the effort.
Slow growth is still growth. He's also mirrored all over youtube and normalfag platforms. They aren't going far to find him. Plus most of his boomer audience is still listening to him on radio. He even broadcasts on shortwave.
Not an argument.
It is an argument. No one gives a shit about Incels. Incels are still on various websites and boards like /r9k/ crying about their lack of pussy and the mean normalchads. The fact that you continue to bring them up makes me think you spend a lot of time talking to trannies on twitter.
Soccer mom censorship is not the same as government or even big-3 censorship.
Confirmed for youngfag. Soccer moms got the Government to censor the actual home release of the game. You'd probably know this if you weren't 15 years old and a faggot. It's a great example of censorship leading to people becoming even more interested in a piece of material. The entire ratings board for video games was created because of the censorship of Mortal Kombat for home consoles. Same thing happened with music with the satanic music scare.

Like I said if you aren't baiting you're just some faggot that wants to censor material you don't personally agree with. Either way you aren't worth listening to when it comes to this subject. You're the same type of faggot that thinks tor and i2p are great ideas until the pedos come a long and start using it. Then you start demanding user accounts and censorship for the child porn defeating the entire purpose of those networks. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You either deal with /pol/, loli, pedos, and various types of cancer to have no censorship or you end up with everything getting censored by default until there is no OC of value left. There is no in-between.

While I'm not saying it hasn't happened any of those people's abilities to attract new people, in regards to Alex Jones since he has his own site and community and is on actual radio, him getting banned from mainstream social networking was padded by quite a bit. It's just that now he won't be getting any new people or listeners.

Kayden Cooper

If he really cared he could just use the same loophole Keemstar and that faggot Ethan Ralph use. Both were banned from youtube but came back by pretending to be guests on someone else's channel. Jewgle does nothing about it. The only reason Alex Jones isn't broadcasting on youtube daily is because he doesn't want to.
He's also a CIA asset so he's doing whatever he's told

You are pure idealists. This place already is censored, cp and probably stuff like bomb manuals are banned by law, but even beyond that /hebe/ was purged even though was lawful. The impact on the rest of the site was negligible.

That nobody wants to be censored is a banality. Contrary to their moralist outrage, they still want their enemies censored.

That image may be inaccurate depending on the time those posters were printed, as the early rallies were consistently interrupted by violent communists outraged at Hitler and the party. Many of whom would show up with handguns and start brawls ending the entire party gathering and stopping the rallies. Twitter probably isn't the best source for this kind of shit tbh

Anthony Adams

It's obviously about states and comparable powers. And Weimar did not censor the fascists, on the contrary they protected them against the communists.
violent communists
Come on now. While there was terrorism from the left, it was dwarfed by that from the right which was of course not last because the government was heavily biased in favour of the right. Hitler just got 9 months in prison for his failed coup ffs.
Twitter probably isn't the best source

The perpetrators were almost officers, without exception, former, or active young Reichswehr and free corps people and to belong to the deutschvölkischen [germanic-ethno-nationalists] scene. To the extent that they could be caught, were you usually with relatively mild penalties. At the latest in 1933, they were pardoned by the Nazi Regime. Among the most famous deaths of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht (KPD leader, January 1919); Kurt Eisner (Bavarian USPD Prime Minister, February 1919), Matthias Erzberger (center, signatory of the armistice, former Reich Minister of Finance, August 1921); and Walther Rathenau (DDP, Minister of foreign Affairs, June 1922).
[...]
At least, the assassinations of Erzberger and Rathenau were proven to not be the work of individual fanatics, but rather a terrorist group. The perpetrator had served in the marine brigade Ehrhardt; now they belonged to the "Organisation Consul" (the O. C.).
[...]
As at the end of 1924, however, a trial against members of the O. C. was held, were the "honourable, truth-loving and intrepid men" (so the Oberreichsanwalt as a prosecutor) acquitted.

And Weimar did not censor the fascists
Did not claim that nor did I say the communist party organized a campaign to censor them I am saying a small amount of communists at the time had shown up to organized rallies on a consistent basis, started brawls and ended the rallies because everyone got into a violent fight. Perhaps they may not have even actually been communists if you'd like to object to that. Call them just Nat soc plants falsely claiming communist identities, it really makes no difference I'm saying that twitter post is more than likely misrepresenting the truth.

I don't think you understand what 'censorship working' means. Censorship is successful if the amount of people gaining access to the content has been reduced. Gaining access and having access aren't the same thing.

It's a great example of censorship leading to people becoming even more interested in a piece of material.
But the release was still censored.

Incels are still on various websites and boards like /r9k/ crying about their lack of pussy and the mean normalchads.

That's a completely retarded argument, only assuming that people will be "encouraged" to do violence if its recent or posted on major sites, much less assuming its going to encourage people to do violence in the first place. The guy literally said in his manifesto that his motive for doing it was all the muslim terrorist attacks that happened years ago and are never mentioned anymore in major media. Acting like this specific manifesto and this specific video is going to be different all the different media that "could" inspire violent is folly, especially when considering that even a large part of guys on /pol/ didn't like him doing (albeit more for him wasting his life on killing a few "sandniggers" than the loss of life).
Its completely retarded and you know it, if people are going to be motivated by it, censoring isn't going to stop it. That's why muslim terrorist attacks aren't censored, their motivations aren't fucking contagious. The only reason this shit is censored is due to the political alignment of these sites and their obsession with painting any and all right-wingers as modern day devils or unpersons. Even when much worse has been done by many more with actual shared motive, they are still kept up and uncensored. Yet they all want to prove that this one is somehow "different" by a "great number of reasons" they will never describe, or at best just some bitter, hatred, fearful shit they always use to make someone appear as an unperson.

It's natural to be upset when an invader kills your kin. However, you would do well to consider why they are killing your kin. The answer—as I'm sure you already know—is that they are responding in kind. Showcasing "terrorism" exclusively draws attention away from the countless mass murders and destabilizations perpetrated internationally by our own nations to keep our sputtering comfort engines running for a few more years at a time. I certainly hope that the irony of spreading the propaganda of the globo-homo complex you despise is not lost on you.

Chanology is meme. It's cringey now. Your noobs who used Low Ion Orbit Cannon on windows with terrible opsec got jailed, barred off internet and suffered more losses than gains.
Sites can literally shut you down and even track you now that the percentage of megacorps owning the ipv4 can be counted by finger.
Point don't worry about archive and where they whether they will accept certain types of content. An obvious work around for this is to add a couple of minute of bullshit like a movie intro to the beginning of the video. Change the format, checksum, name, and description of the file and create numerous version of it.
That won't do. Heard of photodna? Any images posted in social media trains the AI. Upload an image and it generates instantaneous tags of the objects and even the atmosphere of the image. Your only remaining method on vids is spam posting edited videos on yt because they only crack down the channels to shut it down as fast as possible not by video content,
There isn't that much problem until their algorithms get strong enough that your tricks no longer work while the ipv4 is completely owned by MS, FB, G, Amazon, Chinkshit, and now forces you to login with your goyim beast number.
Domain names and hosting over 'immortal' p2p is defective by design but glad they did it in the last minute.
Also Tom Cruise left Scientology. Not that anyone should give a shit.
Also ironically anons used the officially licensed Warner Bros V For Vendetta version of the Guy Fawkes mask to protest copyright claims.
Most newfags don't know that reference.

Thread is gay, OP is gay. TBH, Internet Archive's non-Wayback functions, acting as a glorified Youtube alternative and poorly patrolled dumping ground for pirate ROMsets, never struck me as particularly crucial.

& are the only cogent posts in the thread, as they note Wayback was literally one of the first sites to bend the knee to the LWs in the first week of 5 Guys.

paper
not magnetic ultrium cassettes that are far cheaper though lto-8 tape drives are $3000 than any other storage medium, proven to last for decades
not m-discs that can be written and read using pretty much any modern commodity optical drive, are slightly more expensive in volume than hdd, and are projected to outlast paper due to their worm ablated mineral substrate technology
Setting all this aside, sites like Wayback and archive.is serve a completely different purpose from mere archival. Instead, their primary purpose is to establish authenticity, verifying that a given piece of information was genuinely at a given URL at a given point in time.

The proper use for hypothes.is isn't on its own, but fed to archive.is as a means for it to ingest content from targets that block archive.is.
