I typically read the help threads more then the normal threads. Because regular threads tend to be full of cuckchan /g/ fags who are desperate to show off their arch rice and l337 hax0rz skills.
LFS takes a lot of space to compile.
Puppy Linux will do. It's around 200 MB in size and loads itself completely in RAM. It's a great choice for older hardware.
Arch minimal.
BTW, I use arch.
Quit sucking CoCs.
Try OpenBSD.
