The war was mostly about the Brits trying to box in and destroy the Germans as they were becoming a serious contender to threaten Britains naval might kaiser wilhelms decision to have colonies made them an enemy of England. The French wanted Germany to pay in blood for their humiliation in the franco-prussian war. The Germans contrary to popular belief were mostly just dragged into the war by poor alliances. The austrians had a dying empire that was set to explode. The Russians were an industrializing agrarian nation that was not at all ready for a war and was dragged in by allies.

I mean go out into your backyard, dig a hole jn the ground, and just live there for a year, with the rats, mice, lice, rain, not to mention the artillery, gas, or bullets flying every which way, or the sheer amount of dead bodies in every state of decay, and the smell of shit because a shell would eventually hit the latrine. Aweful business, and you're right that WW1 was worse if you were a soldier, and WW2 was worse for civilians. I could not even imagine the generation of today living through that, and hats off to our great grandfathers for having the courage to put up with it like proper men.

After securing his control of public opinion, they manufactured the crisis of 1930 that was the lead up to Executive Order 6102 in 1933 where Roosevelt forbid the public from storing their own gold, and in turn, stole all the peoples gold for the banks, giving them worthless paper in exchange.

Another curious little fact, the German Nazis actually borrowed this banking system (the one that got them in debt in the first place, when America demanded that its debts be paid, not Versailles) before rampaging across Europe looking for gold, going as far as to rip out golden teeth from jews they captured. Sadly, that Nazi gold mysteriously disappeared never to be found again. I'm sure its all a coinky dinky.
