I'm not entirely convinced this is true. Why? Aggregation. What we really need is a chan aggregator with multiple opt-in/opt-out moderation feeds. Even just the moderation portion would significantly improve the imageboards. However, aggregation is something else. It makes it so that it doesn't matter what site the thread comes from, meaning that if 8ch is compromised, everyone just switches thread hosts, using the same portal.
Here's why you have to have Tor-always for the noobs:
1. They'll use whatever it is 2. Then they'll get automagically banned from sites 3. And, in many cases, DDOS.
For example, this site has a bot that detects region and trolls accordingly. Connect from South America, you're "not white", the bot will say.

Good info on 0net. At least it can work. It needs to be Tor-only, or, as I just said, it will be something only for highly advanced users.
When I was testing 0net, some time back, the Zig Forums irc channel would fairly quickly kick me, wash, rinse, repeat (I think it may have been a cloudflare proxy detector).
