Nice, I'm within walking distance of both a local butcher who raises his own cattle and will prep your cattle or deer for a basic fee and a local meat processing plant. Pigs are more food scraps types than goats (same diet as people basically) but goats will eat a fair amount of that yeah. I have also heard that goat milk is particularly easily digestible but I don't get milk issues so not my area of expertise.
Goats can eat basically just grass or some trees/leafy stuff and be fine also, very cheap/easy to care for. Some people tie them up others make higher fences.. up to you.

I was strictly vegetarian (still eating eggs and dairy though) for about 4 years at one point, and a hugely noticeable difference was that I simply stopped getting sick. I used to get violently ill for 3 to 4 week stretches every year, and that just stopped. On the other hand though, I gained weight, and found it hard to lose. I also found the preachy, self-righteous attitudes of other vegetarians utterly insufferable, even while I was a vegetarian. Having gone back to meat, I found that I started to get sick again, but lost weight and had more energy Of course this was about five years ago and while I am in much better shape in general, I am still learning and experimenting with my diet. It is not as simple as a binary choice, one being 100% correct, and the other irredeemably wrong.
