You have to be stupid or a mongrel or both. Genetic modifying will never make race irrelevant. Even if it could, it would/will be extremely expensive and the most desirable genes are typically found in Europeans, so it's still easier to just stay away from non-whites. Plus, identity, heritage, and history are extremely important and must be preserved to prevent disaster like we're witnessing currently in the West with people being reduced to miserable, ignorant consumers and lemmings.
The best option is to just separate the races and sterilize mongrels, which would correct all problems.

It already is. Just look around. Except for affirmative action programs in places like the US, employment is based primarily on skills and economic incentives. Individual connections and skills have been far more important than race for ages now. And will be even more so as automation cuts away existing jobs. And the stagnation in the west isn't because of people giving up their heritage, it's because Europe has grown old and geriatric. It's difficult to prop up growth when you don't have enough young, and jobs are disappearing anyway due to automation.
Why should anyone care about the latter if they can afford it? If your race doesn't win you favors now, why cling to it? Anyone with the means will want to adopt it. It's why Silicon Valley and places are filled with transhumanists. Heritage and race are on the way out. In the future it'll just be a rat race between individuals adopting ever more outlandish genemods, implants, etc. Or whatever technology is conjured between now and the end of the century.
