Labourer here or part time at least I enjoy working with my hands so if I need the money and wanna do some work that isn't speculative or neetbux related then I try to get on a site. since i work in the construction industry, i'll fill you guys in on the reasoning behind this. (UK situation at least, idk about other countries). The gap in labour shortage was caused by recessions, e.g 2007. the lack of work being done due to the crashing housing market meant no new houses were being built and thus tradesmen had no work and no money.
