Nope it had a very specific function which later morphed into a forum called "politically fucked" and eventually came to politically incorrect much later. But the research was very specific and the original forum had some very (now) famous people on it who used to discuss those topics with us. Back then it was hosted on (I believe) the AOL servers and people would use real life pictures for their avatars since internet security wasn't known worth a shit back then. Anyhow, it was quite the interesting place.
