They are currently trying to awkwardly transition from former fringe party to somewhat estabilishment party. They are not very good at that imo, also media are constantly bashing them for either giving too space to Salvini's Lega or not being an enough compact government (basic divide and conquer, tipical).
They give the general impression of being clumsy, Salvini is much more of a cunning communicator.
