I lift. Currently moving on from Greyskull LP to a more idiosyncratic program I made based on DUP.

I also want to practice martial arts. I'm looking for some good gyms nearby and I plan to start BJJ or Muay Thai next semester. Until then I'm reading about different martial arts, watching video tutorials, learning the techniques of BJJ and Muay Thai, etc.

Capitalists have created a world where pretty much everything poisons us. There is an abundance of sugar, chemicals, hormones, xenostrogens and all sorts of shit in everything we eat and touch because that's how corporations are able to cut some spending here, beat the local competition there, and get us addicted to their product. Combine this with modern urban life with its stress and pollution and the media's constant promotion of negligence with one's health as some type of edgy liberating behavior and you have pretty much entire industries profiting from your addiction and your sedentary lifestyle.

Besides that, there's another, more psychological aspect to working out and taking care of yourself that is important: you're creating the self-discipline and self-control necessary to detach yourself from learned behavior and to set a new standard for your own being. Without this hability, there's absolutely no way you're going to be useful to any class struggle unless you're fulfilling a very peripherical role, which I'm sure is not how socialists nowadays perceive themselves. Learning to abstain from shit food, to exercise, to sit down and read theory, to develop new important skill for the movement and to attend meetings and complete tasks are very important, and I see few of our own taking any steps towards this overall development of self-discipline. We have few quality people among our ranks right now, and lots and lots of dead weight.

There are plenty of resources how to work out without going to gym. pic related is taken from darebee.com/ , it has plenty of meme workout plans, but every one I tried after a few months of slacking off has made my whole body hurt on second day, which should mean they are great. Put every type of workout listed on plan to youtube so you are doing nothing incorrectly and you will be in shape in a few months, for free.

That ain't strength, fam, that's cardio. Building strength without proper equipment is pretty difficult. Callisthenics work, but it's slower and you'll plateau more quickly.

Finding weights are the least of your issues - though if you plan on bulking up you're gonna need an Olympic barbell that won't break. The problem is the racks and benches. Many big compound exercises require that the bar is either above your chest (bench press) or at shoulder-height (squats and overhead press), and getting the bar into position without the help of a rack is very difficult and just a little bit dangerous - and either way you're not gonna be able to lift your max. I say this as someone who was stupid enough to try this - I quit after a few too many close calls.

What do you mean by lifting "in the most perfect way"? If you wanna do compound lifts, which is by far the best way of gaining strength, then that's the way you lift them, and if you want to do so safely and efficiently then you're gonna need a rack. I wasn't exaggerating when I said it was dangerous not to.
Now, if you don't want to do compound lifts that ain't a problem. You can use dumbbells, which aren't as good but doable, or you can use machines, which are shit and expensive and you shouldn't use them. Unless you mean doing shit like tossing sandbags, which I suppose you can do, but at that point you should probably be thinking about finding other ways of getting fit - such as martial arts, which has the bonus of teaching you a valuable skill.

The main issue with potatoes is the high GI index. Your body converts the potato starch into sugar quickly. That causes a spike in blood sugar, triggering your body to store the excess as fat. Much better to eat foods with a lower GI index if that would be a concern.

Haven't gone to the gym much, but I do yoga and I've worked several manual labor jobs. I eat a variety of real foods. I'm in better physical shape than 90% of other people in their 20s.
I've got strength just from doing these things. I could certainly gain more if I spent money on the gym, but just wanna say the gym isn't the only way.

There are usually instructions on the machines on how to use them, or you could ask some staff members, or if you have huge balls, ask other people at the gym how it works. People are generally helpful, especially when you engage in their hobby.

Haven't been to the gym in like, 2 years. Although I did enjoy going, shit slowed down when my good friend stopped going with me. After that I slowly gave up on going to the gym.

I just picked one random with funny title, but there are much more. I do not want to shill that website too much, but it's the best site for working out with your own body weight I found.

I do not know any theory about working out, but based on what some of my /fit/ friends are talking, working out without equipment is better for you than gym. You won't build your body in such beautiful way, but you will be stronger than gymfaggot while looking same.
