Liberals and lots of lefties tend to dislike or outright hate masculinity, so the aut right appeals to people who value masculinity. It's a strategic move in addition to a reactionary angle of "reclaim lost glory" nonsense. Being anti-male to any significant degree is playing into the dynamic.

Rightests tend to control the narratives much better than leftists do. It helps they collude with dark money conservative lobbyists who financially commercialize New Right narratives.
