This tbh, in the cold war you could defect, in WWII you were fighting fash.
People call Putin Hitler, no he is Kaiser Wilhelm II. We are heading towards another WWI and after every 1914 there is a 1917. Joining the Red Cross is the best option IMO because 1) you aren't a "traitor" 2) you aren't a "coward" 3) you would have made sure people get home alive 4) you don't help the war effort for either side 5) you can talk shit to all the politicians that sat back and sent people to war..
Regardless, if a war started we have an entire generation that would not fight it: they're either leftists or actually sympathise with the Russian regime, you'd be sending unwilling soldiers off to war, which is unlike WWI.
WWII was different; that was about killing fash. WWIII will be like WWI, where were are killing for imperialism and profit.
And anyways, I would be shooting at Russians: many of whom I am friends with. I am no supporter of the crook Putin or the Yeltsin-without-alcoholism Navalny but I do not want to see the Russian people come to harm for the sake of their masters' profit and glory.
