Language

Pen, meet sword.
You either admit that words are weapons and that some can be banned, or you realize that you can't stop people from saying certain words regardless of whether or not their on television.

Its like that kimmel skit where they asked people that if they HAD To choose, if they liked Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act better. Liberals liked Obamacare and Conservatives liked the Affordable Care Act. They're the same thing. Rhetoric shapes all our thoughts. wtf was OP talking about again? I think that saying I can say boob on TV but not tiddie is silly. "But think of the children!" Just don't let your fucking kids watch those shows. "But its all the shows!" The Market will take care of it.
Censorship is a dangerous form of control because you won't know its happening. Don't let it happen, even a little.

He's right. Once you draw a distinction in language you've otherized. It doesn't even need to be negative.
I love calling you faggots faggots too but you cannot deny that it dehumanizes. Or are you calling people faggots because they asked you to, or because its their name, or because they like it? Bite the bullet you fucking chumps.

Hey Zig Forums

I'll go with this one

Whether it feels dehumanizing to anyone depends on how it's understood. That's always based on the social environment in which the word is spoken, not the word itself. Speaking of it abstractly as "dehumanizing" glosses over what each individual understands the word to mean within a particular social context and set of relations. It also encourages the type of thinking that attempts to solidify a definite, single and transhistorical word meaning rather than engaging with how the word is used by different people and changes semantically over time. It's undialectical and ahistorical.

Slurs, like literally every other word, are context-sensitive. Calling someone a faggot in an environment where it is well-understood to be a common and neutral term, or even a positive thing, is different from saying that you hope that fucking faggot burns in hell for his sodomy out in the general public.

Slurs do not magically retain more meaning and power than other words when going from context to context.

free speech absolutism is gay (paul josef watsen etc.)
but there should be some basic arena where the people can shitpost
also like every market, free speech results into monopolies and cronyism by default, thats why academia are hostile to any true criticism of liberalism outside of critical theory/progressivism

Which is absolutely not true
