and perhaps vitriol's the wrong word but for lack of other words the misogyny, ethnocentrism, glorification of drugs. perhaps i'm puritanical but at the end of the days shit ton of hip hop is indeed just glorification of hedonism, consumerism, cars, brands, alcohol name dropping etc. Maybe its interesting from an ethnographical perspective but even a lot of the reflections and stuff are severely shallow and unnuanced. that is why billy woods is one of my favorite hip hop artists
