Tbh as a britbong, people cared more about the spectacle itself more than what it stood for: like an olympic opening ceremony. Even those who watched it were kinda critical (homeless people being moved, NGOs invitées having to pay for their own food hile literal aristos don't, Megan Markel being still being fucking rich before ect.). Also the "we're paying for this" line (which isn't correct technically, without going into detail it was paid for by the profits from the land the house of Windsor owns [yes, the morachs are actually porkies]). Tbh I slept through the whole thing, watched the FA cup though, was a good game.
