There is a great deal of confusion in this thread, so I'll try to clear some of it up.
Communism/Socialism are fantastic ideologies, and, to be certain, they do, in fact, work. However, their limitations are rooted in size and scale. For example, I share a communist relationship with my wife and my children. What I make is collectively ours, and income goes into securities, assets, and stock-piled goods for us, collectively, to use when we need it. We have sovereignty over our selves as a collective unit and a collective household.
The beauty of the capitalist and Western, more specifically American, notion is how the founding fathers and western philosophic tradition places emphasis on the value of the individual. The border at the end of the individual family's property line should be understood the same as the property line between nations. This is comparable to the notion of the microcosm as the individual is comparable to the notion of the nation-state.
The problem with leftist governmental systems is that the theory is a lofty one, but it flies in the face of human nature and the fact that evil exists beyond a very thin border across from good. An overbearing spouse can be tyrannical and oppressive; likewise the minority gets smashed by the power of the collective in leftist governmental structures, like the Kulak or the Juden, or the White African farmer.
So, philosophically, I feel that leftist ideologies are rather naïve, ill-developed, and vengeful. Some aspects of it are needed and necessary: UBI, certain social safety nets… But to say that capitalism will lead humanity down the path towards ecological destruction is simply foolish to state. Let's consider this.
No human being wishes to live in filth, squalor, and discomfort. So, built into the notion of improvement and modification of technologies is the drive to recreate the target technology in a manner that is more sustainable, efficient, and hygienic.
I discuss this a great deal with my socialist aunt and uncle, and the prime example and testament to the value of the capitalist system is the existence of Elon Musk's Space-X, Tesla, and The Boring Company. The first-stage of the Falcon 9 returning to land was a miraculous consequence of the capitalist tradition; furthermore, he was able to do it at a striking fraction of the cost that an overbearing government was able to do so. Capitalism created reusable rockets and technological miracle. It will continue to generate such products.
Communism does have its merits, but it could only exist at a certain scale. 8 billion people can't simply govern themselves because they will ultimately develop into some system of hierarchical organization. It will simply be authoritarianism: some asshole erasing dividends of the entire population with the sweep of a pen (Stalin, Mao, the Kim family, Pol-Pot, and, yes, Hitler [National SOCIALIST PARTY ), or some virtue-signaling malcontent (Sadiq Kahn of London, Jerry Brown of California) subjecting the populations to ridiculous living or working conditions to carry some disconnected moral aim.
The fine balance that is achieved in the western world exists in the pages of the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Sorry to drop in the board, but it seemed to need a shill for the free market and centrist politics.
The reason why you are inclined to the leftist politics is because you are angry and frustrated with who/what you are and you interactions with other people. You should try to achieve something to live for, some sense of self-satisfaction and meaning before attempting to ascribe these issues upon other people and the world outside yourself.
