The irony of East-West German comparison is that Germany has all the contradictions of crapitalism. It has very large GDP per capita, yet home ownership is extremely low, people can't afford healthy food, and many more problems. As a result,despite superb climate. the population is very depressed, and people can't even afford to have children. Germany has the lowest birthrate in the world.
