Are the words and writings of the chairman some sort of "bible" and disagreeing with it ostrazices you socially in the organization?
Are all the leading positions filled with people somehow related to the chairman, like stepson, sister-in-law, etc.?
Does the chairman get financial advantage out of the party?
Does the party absolutely refuse to have friendly relations with other communist parties, declares the tiniest unimportant bullshit as revisionist?
Does the party try to involve your social enviroment in the organization or tries to cut you off your friends and family?
Are there any ritualized behaviours?
Does the party discourage you from reading certain stuff?
If at least 4 of these points are true, you are probably in a cult.

I'm not convinced that "slur" holds much meaning when used to describe anything less overtly malicious than an actual racial epithet. Like, someone might say "TERF" is a slur, and they might technically be right - but it's not a "slur" in the same way that nigger or faggot or cracker or even bitch is a slur, so there's a reason it doesn't have that kind of status. Same goes for "cult," "conservitard," etc.
