I'm no fitness guru or some shit but you have to eat mother fucker. If you start lifting now (beside the fact you'll be unable to do it) you ain't gonna gain shit.
You need to eat a lot. A steak a day at least, how tall are you? You American? Eat steak motherfucker

Can't really offer much for advice in getting buff, but to any anons try taking a walk each day or take a jog around the block. You'll feel better for it and you'll burn off carbs.

Also eating nuts and fruits in between meals also helps. Stay healthy, comrades.

This so much. I'm 5'9" and I never trained in martial arts (I'm not a skinny fuck tho) but never got my ass handed on a 1 on 1. Trick is that I always start first and always hit dirty. Like really dirty. Throat shot or eye gouging then take whatever object I find and hit the guy in the head with it.
It's not about being a piece of shit either, if he gives you a reason you should go for it. There is no point of a fight if you don't want to hurt him

Ok so I need advice, I've been going to the gym for 4 months and although, I'd make progress (developed muscle, become much stronger) I thought I'd see more of a physical change but I'm not that much big, and I still have some fat specially on my lowback and abdomen.

What should I do? Do I really need an intensive diet?
I don't have much money or time so it is a bit difficult for me to spend huge time on my meals, in general I've just tried to eat more proteins and less junk food, but it seems that if I really want to see a big change I need to do something else.

Also now I'm going to be one month out of gym will all my muscle mass progress be lost? (it is were I've mostly made a change)

I'm just gonna post what I remember and learned from when I used to lift, might be helpful to some of you

Wanna self defense? Get a gun, or at least a bat. Otherwise, you have many martial arts to choose from to pick your particular taste of larping.

Technically just being alive burns calories.

I feel you user. I have a slight self-image issue with fat on my wide hips despite having decent upper body. We should get used to our natural body fat percentages especially because shaving off those last few pounds takes a lot of work and generally have you running a calorie deficit so this will negatively impact your weightlifting. You sort of have to choose at this point, strength and size or body fat. Of course you may choose to alternate bulking and cutting and that's fine. So while I share these sentiments, I recommend
less salt, less (animal) fat, less fructose/simple sugars. more meal prep, more leafy greens and raw veggies.
What do you do now? Sounds like you could use one day a week that focuses highly on core muscles. Do a low intensity high rep ab work, look up circuits and different exercises to put in them. But that's only the rectus abdominis muscle. You also want to hit your obliques. And there are a lot of them so you need to do twisting exercises (with cables or crunches/medicine ball stuff) and side planks or side crunches. You want to do these sets so that you're feeling the bern for most of them. But most importantly, and I hate to say it but, CARDIO! You (probably) gotta do it.
