Why does Bosnia seem autistic instead of becoming mini-Yugo?

26 years of war famine and pestilence. You could have prevented this.

I work with 2 Bosnian guys. Both were in the military and both moved to the States after the civil war. One was special forces (probably saw combat, super nice as long as you're not gay) and the other was stationed at some military base. He never fought anyone directly, but survived a grenade blast. He refuses to show me his scar.

Because people that were living together started killing each other. And now the same people have to live together again …. It's kind of weird living next to people that raped and slaughtered your relatives …

But under Tito the Serbs managed to lived with the Croats that were sending them to concentration camps during World War 2.

That was when the communists were a strong force. But the younger generation was pretty liberal and nationalism crept in, and it exploded after Tito's death. Of course that was also connected with an economic hiccup at about the same time.

This "hiccup" is called the CIA which purposefully funded these ethno nationalist groups and destabalized the economy.

The CIA only funded the terrorists, and only for muh dominoes instead of a cohesive plan to topple Yugoslavia. The SFRY was doomed to collapse without them because of the neoliberal faggots that succeeded Tito and caved to the IMF's demands.

Yes, they were doing their meddling as well. But when the ustaši paradived into the country and tried to start an uprising, nothing happened, noone came - because the unity in the party was still there and the economy was doing well. 10 years later, and all of the bullshit propaganda worked fine.

But we still cannot ignore the fact that the national disputes weren't solved, Croatian and Serbian hunger for more fucking power and territory was still there. So was the Slovenian arrogance at wanting to be more westernized.
