China has never renounced Marxism. Nor has it turned it's back on it's socialist aspirations. Instead, it has repeatedly purged liberals for not respecting the party line. (See Hu Yaobang)
The official position is that only way China can overcome capitalism is by becoming self-sufficient through the expansion of the productive forces. Without it any talk of the emancipation of the working class becomes moot, and China will remain forever shackled to global capitalism.
This was Deng's point, and his observations were solidly in line with Marxism.

Neither are capitalism and communism (as a movement) mutually exclusive, for one is a mode of production, the other is the the real movement which abolishes the present state of things the premises of which are in existence today. In fact, it is capitalism that forms the prerequisite for any communist movement.

I've become convinced that being a reactionary is hopeless. In the end Gómez Dávila, Evola and Nick Land were right about how utterly futile reactionary movements are.
While I'd still prefer pre-capitalism there is no praxis that could actually achieve that, let alone prevent it's (re)degeneration into capitalism.
After all, it was the machinations of the landed aristocracy and the feudal mode of production that eventually gave rise to the merchant class and capitalism. Even if we turn back time, there's nothing to prevent that from happening again.

History doesn't move backwards; it can only ever move forwards. And as far as 'progress' goes I'd rather have socialism than whatever future Land described.

Make no mistake, feudalism was terrible, but better than capitalism in the sense that it didn't gave you promises. If you were born into a family of farmer you would do that for the rest of your life. There was no bullshit "you can be anything you want to".

I don't even disagree fam, I'd rather have romanticism and die in fields than have americanism and die in front of a tv. Personally I take this to an extreme level. Not being a worker and being a sneaky bastard I don't have to worry about the economy or whatever it's happening politically, I'll always find a way to make up the most out of it. What I'm scared of is how balkanized people are becoming.
I'm scared of having an heart attack in the middle of the road and one helping me. I'm scared of indifference. I live in a pretty big city and sometimes I want to scream loud as fuck, I don't do it because I know no one would even turn around.
This imho is the greatest tragedy of the current system. Maybe under feudalism I'd be killed or branded crazy, but people would react somehow. Even in suffering and poor condition there would be something, not the emotionless mass there is these days. I never saw a problem with naziposter for this reason personally, even he is a reactionary. I never had any serious discussion with him but from his posts I think he'd agree with me.
I mean sometimes I feel like I'm living a nightmare. Like I'm fucking dead or some shit and no one sees me. I'd probably suffer under feudalism, but at least there would be something true in it and people would share it. Here I'm not even sure other people can even reason

I don't think that's particularly true. Sources that claim this only take in consideration the time peasants spent working the lord's land (i.e. doing their "job"). Ignoring the fact that peasants also had to maintain their own households. I have family that lives in rural Russia and they work from dusk til dawn around the house and the gardens, now imagine if they didn't have modern technology and had feudal obligations.

What? That's almost a summarization of feudalism's entire core principle. The noble "promised" to be faithful in good service to the king, the levies "promised" to show up whenever called upon by the nobles to fight in some equally shitty hole, the peasants "promised" to give up their grain and not revolt. Likewise, the king "promised" the nobles protection, but of course the nobles could be arbitrarily killed any time within the full legal scope. Europe and Japan under feudalism were likely the bloodiest periods for both regions.
