As a kid I named my dog Che. I probably wouldn't name my kid after a socialist hero. I think it's fine to have heroes, but this kinda stuff borders on personality cult.

Plenty of religious people name their kids Jesus or after some other saint/biblical figure, and nobody's weirded out by that. It's just a fucking name, there's nothing cultish about naming someone Vladimir if Lenin is really important to you. It'd be cultish to shave your kid's head and make him wear a Greek fisherman hat, but just the name is fine.
