Not only leftist shit, Let's discuss music in general.
Favorite album is pic related. You won't be able to name a better leftist album

What is Zig Forumss stance on ProgRock? It is rather apolitical music and can be seen as a bit snobbish, but I still love it. Sorry if it doesnt fit here, but here are some of my favourite tracks

Haven't really listened to it, might have to check it out
Katyusha is the only good song that's ever been produced.
youtube.com
Ok so I listened to the first one, it was pretty good. Also are those the same Camel that made this song? youtu.be
yep they also made that song. British Prog in general is fuckin great
Ay post your top 100s.
Also rome is some of the best left wing music
Moorsoldaten is a song from the concentration camps about their suffering and hope of being free one day
lyricstranslate.com
so… anything goes? is that even allowed? uhm okay, well
you asked for it
pls no bulli, even if i deserve it
youtube.com
Yeah that song is great, I might wanna check out more of Camel, see if they have anything similar.
Thanks, I didn't know that. I actually had to look up what moor was in spanish (my first lenguage) cause I hadn't heard of that word before.
You posted the only good prog album
you're welcome
this song has a very similar vibe to it, but i'm not so sure about the lyrics
iirc it's about the dirt roads of war, typically russian pictorial language
Oh, Those Roads Ech, dorogi
Эх, дороги

Really nice song user. It makes me think of just how much unimaginable suffering there was on the Eastern Front, we'll probably never be able to comprehend it.
yeah exactly, really melancholic
Volga Boatmen sung by Paul Robeson
youtube.com
i love that top comment:
"isn't the voice of Paul Robeson so powerful but at the same time tender, full of sadness, compassion. His voice of a deep bass is wonderful. I know him singing many beautiful song in English and other languages always expressing the suffering of the people, the opressed, enslaved."
Polyushka Polye - Paul Robeson (for english text)

this song is so badass, just him and a piano don't really convey its strength
youtube.com
just because i really like it: The Cossacks

no idea what the lyrics are about though
i assume it's about "cossaki"
and just because this one pleases my autism:

So it isn't socialism?
Is Common People by Pulp a song about workers culture?
The whole album "Different Class" is working class tunes
WHAT TO DO
FOR THE PLEASURE
YOU DREAMT OF SCENES
LIKE YOU READ IN THE MAGAZINES
I like Yes better than King Crimson, but I concede that In The Court Of The Crimson King is a very good album.
It's weird seeing all these english groups since I started with Pekka Pohjola and went a bit from there. The very first track I came across

Comments should explain. Check out the whole album

I've barely explored Jukka Tolonen but I really like these

Yeah, I prefer instrumental music (which Pekka mostly does) so it's nice that prog has a focus on that and lyrics, if present, tend to take up less space. Perhaps not understanding a lick of what they're saying also helps. Trettioariga Kriget released this trilogy of albums from 2004 to 2011

Couldn't have known they're from the 70s when I first listened to Efter Efter.
Thanks for introducing me to my new favorite version of Polyushko Pole, Tomoko-poster.
I listen to the Internationale on repeat basically.
That's my boi.
being listening to this a lot lately

Rome is good.
I listen to a lot of industrial stuff and I'm going to pump Rummelsnuff, a bodybuilder (real name Roger Baptist) from the DDR who performs electro-industrial songs that are also like worker anthems.
For instance he has a song celebrating auto mechanics:

And other songs that get into pure dialectics:

I looked up his Twitter and the two politicians he follows are Sahra Wagenknecht and Gregor Gysi.
Gebt ihr euch den Bruderkuss?
youtube.com
For the past few years I really got into stoner doom shit, I love these channels promoting so many bands
both are disgusting tbh, wagenknecht just slighty more tolerable
but ffs she's arguing in favor of policies under Kohl
reminded me of this for some reason
youtube.com
Wie zur Hölle kommste bei so nem Lied auf die Kassierer?
Could you elaborate on the supposed similarities between Wagenknecht and Kohl's policies?
You should check out Mars Red Sky

[spoiler]wahrscheinlich einfach nur weil es so bizarr ist, keine ahnung[spoiler]
aww fuck me i suck
she stated something like this herself, repeatedly as a talking point
"we're not extreme, you guys are, what we want isn't far fetched, in reality it's reversing harmful policies and return to what we had under kohl"
or something like that, basically
that was her routine of argumentation when the PdL was just created
sadly i can't find anything concretely, but to give a glimpse into that train of thought, this article in german is somewhat related

I've never been very enthusiastic about a lot of classic prog (Yes, Genesis etc) although that album is great and I also like ELP quite a bit.
Pic related is the best prog rock album ever made though, change my mind.
BASED taste.

Warsawianka instrumental on piano
Waste of a thread, go to mu or get taste.
I'm not even baiting, your tastes are even more boring than the endless NPCs that post on mu.
you'll grow out of it, don't worry.
let's see your picks
ok.
are you at least aware that almost all music discussed so far has been talked to death?
I like some of the artists posted, it's obviously not bad music, I'm just tired of seeing the same releases everytime.
I haven't done one of these charts for years, and the way I consume music isn't really suited to these types of top 50 charts.
just name 3 bands or artists you like, you pretentious cunt
lately I've been going through some of the newer UK dance labels like Hessle, Livity Sound, Idle Hands, Blackest Ever Black, Berceuse Heroique, Different Circles, Timedance
also enjoying the stuff from Skudge, Crème Organization, Bedouin and Sex Tags Mania a lot
my fellow comrades
Tchaikovsky - Hymn of the Cherubim - USSR Ministry Of Culture Chamber Choir

Opera counts as music, so I'll just post this here:
argonov.bandcamp.com
Here is the translation:lyricstranslate.com
The opera is about the perfect future where the USSR realizes OGAS and does not collapse, leading it to be close to achieving full automisation by 2032 where the opera takes place. The opera has some absolutely nuclear takes on communism("Isn't communism where everyone loves everyone?"), but still it is very emotional to see what another future might have looked like. What are other anons' ideas about this?
Just fucked this together couple of minutes ago
What do you like about Ex Military, The Downward Spiral and The Money Store?
Kinda normie, but here's my chart.
probably missed a lot of things but i'm tired
some soviet era classics
Two non leftist songs I like. Might not be for everyone but fuck it
