Cuba might not be socialist, but it is anti imperialist, thus worthy of support
Michael Mitchell
People being able to Trade personal property does not change the generally Socialist Nature of the Cuban economy the MoP and the apparatus of gov is still controlled by a DoP When it becomes Chinese-Red Capitalism with a DoB then we will talk
Kevin Scott
Leads me to wonder how housing would work under socialism. Obviously it would be guaranteed, but would home ownership be possible? I would consider a house that you live in to be personal property, not private property, so I don’t see anything wrong with it. I would envision a system where people can vacate homes they don’t want in favour of new ones, which they can apply for and get either on a lottery or first come first serve basis. Their old home would then be put up for people to apply to own.
Juan Hernandez
Its Also important to note that this constitutional Change isnt just some Deng / Gorbz / Yelt and a bunch of Careerists reverting back to Capitalism against the populations will the Constitutional Change will only come into effect if the Majority of the Cuban Proletarian class choose to implement it which if they do shows that they think (whether some purists on this board think so or not) that the Plan has failed and greater Market elements need to be implemented to save the Cuban Model Also remember its not all Doom and gloom this constitution opens up the way for more egalitarian reform such as LGBT rights / Marriage equality etc For more Libertarian minded folks here the New Constitution also seeks to formalize the separation of powers between the Central government and Local / Municipal / state councils and continue the Cuban goverments policy of Decentralization of power
Henry Nelson
Unironically kill yourself.
Christopher Thompson
Where did you get Homelessness from? Housing is still a guaranteed effective right in Cuba as far as i know
Brayden Watson
i guess that means third worldism btfo no revolutionary potential by those poor people it appears it's almost like revolutionary potential isn't simply pauperism like these simpletons try to dumb it down to, big surprise
the thing with maoists (and same for hoxhaists) is that they confuse revisionism with the restauration of capitalism through counter-revolution because they're frankly too stupid to differ it's why maoists and hoxhaites both, for example, celebrate the reunification of germany
you applied to it and your status would change your chances for getting a place being married helped, having a kid even more so but that was back then after the war when they were still short on living room and couldn't keep up the construction with the growing demand
countries not called Cuba you living meme, show me where Cuba is on a map you spastic
Jonathan Collins
Brazil.
Jaxson King
great "fact checking"
Nathan Hernandez
How do you know it’s Havana? Reverse image search turned up no results.
Bentley Gray
Also from what I can tell, Publio Furbino, which is the company listed in the watermark in the first pic, is a Brazilian photography company that mostly takes pictures in Rio.
Ryder White
simply google image search "havana slums" you will find similar photos with specific descriptions
Connor Moore
This
Justin Butler
Dunno m8, this pic from Rio looks a lot closer to the ones you posted than anything actually from Cuba. Then there’s also the fact that it literally has the name of a Brazilian company that takes pictures of Rio in the bottom left corner.
google search havana slums and you'll see pics like the second pic, nothing surprising.
Ethan Williams
Maybe, but seeing as you clearly already fucked up and there’s no proof that that pic is from Cuba I see no reason to believe you. Besides, even if it is from Cuba, all it shows is that Cuba is roughly on par with the rest of Latin America, which we all already knew.
Joshua Taylor
great "fact checking"
it's not really surprising that a tiny island nation under more or less constant embargo has slums that are about on par with the rest of central and south America, no
Favela, since that is so obviously Brazil: I know, I've seen them myself (the favelas are kinda unique in their construction, when people try to say they are from somewhere else it is pretty obvious).
there is literally nothing wrong with khrushchyovkas
they're comfy
Bentley Richardson
why the fuck do we need unruhe to tell us this? cuba might not be socialist but atleast it's anti-imperialist, strongly social democratic and developmentalist so whatever you want to call cuban's economic organization it's significantly superior to that of neighbouring countries with similar conditions like haiti and the dominican republic
you can google "venezuela empty supermarkets" and find pictures of american or japanese supermarkets shortly before, during or after a natural disaster similarly, "soviet empty supermarket" will give you pics from tsarist russia or after the collapse of the soviet union stop being a retard and try finding the original source of pictures pic related, an american supermarket and a breadline in tsarist russia which will show up with the google searches mentioned earlier
Most of Spain lives like this aswell. It's vastly superior than housing in most of the world, just cause it's not like north-western Europe doesn't mean it's a shithole. Try comparing the USSR with Brazil or India for once.
people making fun of commieblocks are so retarded, believing that socialist countries were literally covered in commieblocks and that they were so unelegant on purpose
you gotta thank glorious capitalist tsarist russia for leaving the USSR with no infrastructure other than some wooden hovels, and hitler for ruining Soviet peaceful development for decades
housing shortages needed a fast solution which only panel houses could provide at the time. pic relateds are what average soviet housing before the war looked like
also i'd much rather have a free flat in a commieblock than put myself into debt for a le american dream suburban house
sorry you're right I just call all commieblocks khruschyovkas out of habit
As opposed to what? The Soviet Union needed more housing at the time.
Owen Sullivan
thank you comrade retard for aptly describing urbanization under capitalism
Adam Sanders
oh the horror, why'd commies terrorize my family so much? poor grandma that got her teeth for free while merely working as a receptionist and didn't have to go bankrupt over it having to live like a civilized person and not getting to live like a medieval peasant unforgivable!
Carter Wood
dumb libtard russian countryside in the 50s was a volkisch paradise where everyone had a comfy two-story american house but the evil commies forced everyone to live in scary human hives sharing a flat without electricity with 50 niggers and a commissar
Ethan King
Not all of like living in the human storage shelves of a fordist corporation whose company colour is red.
I respect your right to actually want to live in all-work-no-fun land, Hitler's prora on a national scale, but please also respect our right to not have this forced onto us.
yeah, that horror of sharing space with other people, must be horror for an aspie like you, i can imagine walking outside and stepping into a park, with fountains down a small footway, a playground for children, doctors and shops all within walking distance and away from the busier traffic of the main roads a place where there'd be activities with music, markets, sport area and all those things people everywhere better live in a dirt hut like a slave to own dem commies
Colton Diaz
How much of a sheltered suburban pussy do you have to be to think that living in an apartment is some kind of prison sentence?
Easton Lewis
You realise there was an acute housing shortage post-WW2, right?
Aiden Flores
No user you don’t understand. Using apartments as a sensible and effective solution to a massive housing shortage as any responsible government would is literally rape.
Cameron Thompson
at least capitalism fixed those issues, the buildings are bought up, "renovated" with some new colors and balconies for outside appearance, old tenants being kicked out and now living again on a farm in the sticks where a granny with alzheimer can be taken better care off by her son who's harassed by neighbouring farmers and gangs trying to rob the place it's beautiful today in eastern europe, things are so much more free!
Xavier Long
building appartments is opression! countryside shacks or death!
Jacob Bailey
would this be a bad idea for communist housing? like you'd sleep in your pod but when you get out there's wi-fi, a buffet, library, a swimming pool, drone dropping a fresh issue of pravda in your lap etc
could be comfy imo
Jayden King
I've lived in a yurt for awhile, I liked it. But I understand how living in a prison complex can be really comfortable for some people, because of the heating and electricity of course..
wake up, praise portrait of great leader discuss my joy about chocolate rations having been raised by 20% with fellow people living in apartment go to work at factory, screw bolts on tractors all day go home to tower flat eat corn play a communal game of communal table tennis in the communal sports hall of the communal community building in my factory community praise great leader and go to bed repeat until dead
such are the dreams of petty minded totalitarians
And yeah, I'd be in aspie in which that is basically naziland themepark stripped of the "theme" part.
It's not exactly like I could've wandered from cell/flat and forced labour/job in those places.
Never waste a good crisis..
Remember when everything was taken care of for you, when you didn't have to think about anything, those were the days, those were the days..
Jason Sanchez
you're delusional as fuck lol how cucked can you get
Cameron Scott
pure delusion of sheltered american suburban teenager from newgrounds copypasta who thinks living in an apartment is literal rape
Christopher Morris
This is modern communism.
Adam Green
...
Joseph Hernandez
funny, my family also owns a cottage with a garden that was given to us by the evil totalitarian communist state
we used it to grow vegetables to not starve when totalitarianism fell at last and we finally received freedom from food and civilization
Levi King
I've lived for a few months in this place, prefer it any day to your fordist total institutionalization. Better neighbours too.
You know, actually liking to live in an alienated soulcrushing shithole doesn't make you a tough guy, it just makes you the simpleton subject every totalitarian state attempts to create.
Jayden Morgan
So a party member?
Jayden Perez
This is correct. The reason why commieblocks were build is WW2.
Evan Brooks
*bzzt* wrong
also you realize that millions of people outside in America live in apartments, in Western Europe too?
Logan Fisher
Correct. Many citizens of Warsaw pact had flats and summer dachas. Dachas, as far as I know had more land with them than western suburbs.
Brody Sanders
I know that, my family has a dacha. I am saying "wrong" to the implication that my family were party members, or that only party members owned dachas. My grandparents who received the plot were engineers. Also dachas in the USSR was 600-1,500 square meters
Jeremiah Phillips
So either your grandfather or father is a veteran.
Commie state doesn't give out free house to people.
Kayden Sanchez
Sorry, meant for
I agree that people had dachas.
Christopher Bell
also wrong, are you gonna keep guessing?
Josiah Fisher
That's incorrect. Look at home ownership of the former socialist countries. It is still high and a lot of elderly people have flats and dachas. Additionally use common sense, american millennial's can't afford house, so birthrate is very low.
Asher Moore
look at all the citations and evidence he used!
Wyatt Gray
All european countries in the former nato area have these as well, except they are all shittier and costs pretty high.
Aiden Ramirez
Also tbh, housing in East Berlin is now considered premium because the western built stuff is worse.
Julian Scott
That's correct. I have been to western Germany and Northern Italy. There is also a lot of neo commieblocks all over Europe. Google maps also reveal commieblocks to be in Switzerland and other rich western countries.
Noah Ortiz
Pretty sure that they’re a ton of them in the Netherlands too.
Robert Sanchez
Yes! Benelux is smaller than Lithuania but has over 10 times bigger population. It is very urbanized area.
Matthew Phillips
Literally what is commieblocks? Is it just apartment houses that look kinda dull and grey? I'm yuropoor btw.
Carter Bailey
not surprised, you guys are fucking retarded
Ian White
Yea take any cheap housing flat/apartmentbuilding build during the post war reconstruction in europe but then ITS MADE BY DA EBIL GOMMIES
Justin Brooks
Even in a wealthy european country like Sweden it's not at all hard to find ugly and dull looking apartment houses. Close to where I lived growing up there were these incredibly ugly yellow apartment houses (probably built in the 70's or something) where my parents and grandparents told me all the drug addicts lived. I don't see what's special about "commieblocks", really.
Pretty much. The worst thing you can say about them is that they’re kinda ugly.
Zachary Hill
they also have no community areas, doctors, shops or anything essential close by, you actually have to move to the respective parts of the city to get anything, it's ridiculous i actually had the pleasure of living in a genuine former socialist block over summer visiting family and it was so unbelievable convenient and just beautiful it was right in the middle of the city, but it was just as green as in my home village while having so much stuff close by going on except by that time i was too young to go alone and probably wouldn't have gone anyway because crime was through the roof
western blocks however have nothing going for them there's no plants or trees, just grass if you're lucky there's a bar relatively close by and a kindergarten or school it's depressing and sad
and this is the shit murritards look at if it's not photos taking during autumn or winter on a rainy day, trying desperately to cut out everything out of the picture besides the raw building itself it's ridiculous
Aiden Evans
Funny thing is, I found out how this fucking moron thought it was Cuba!
Kek
Sounds interesting, any article in particular?
It's a just a condo. BUT IT WAS MADE BY THE GOMMIES SO IT'S EVIL! Everyday my thirst for burguer blood increases; I'd have to wagecuck the rest of my life to live in a condo like that two hours from work, and by Brazilian standards I'd be successful if I got that much.
my grandparents had to walk 10 minutes to work, the nearest bus stop or for church 5 minutes to the closest shop, kiosk, bakery, pharmacy, doctor, fountain park, youth club, sport hall and restaurant
i just checked it on google maps, by now only that restaurant is gone but there's a pizza place instead
Chase Taylor
Not even american, can't you even get your racism right?
Those buildings have done their work on you it seems, imprisoning your mind as well.
My bad, I've forgotten the latitude at which racism becomes anti-imperialism.
David Bailey
He has a point spurdoposter Americans are their own mystery meat race by now
Henry James
The castors were better at the whole *Insert country* first shit then trump is
Levi Morales
We have "Commieblocks" in almost every town in Australia for fucks sake And yes they were all basically built as Commision (see: state) housing for Lumpen
Tyler Myers
True, but you don't have to be a retard (aka Zig Forumsack) to hate on Americans. t. American
Christopher Harris
You sound like one of those fucks who say they like to be stuck in fucking traffic during their commute instead of going on a train because they're the captain of the fucking boat that is their overpriced money-pit-on-wheels.
Its not black and white. They still are, even with wrong that.
Levi Reyes
You can provide housing to everyone, right now. I know mansions would be better, but this is actually realistic.
Ryan Barnes
We have the same in Poland, 50 yo commieblock flats are sold even higher than new cappieblocks, commies actually built schools, green areas, free space, infrastructure for people etc. around them. New ones are squeezed together to the absurd point of 10 m window to window space, nothing around
Landon Torres
In Russia there are housing shortages in Moscow and Petersburg because these two cities basically imperialize the country and everyone is moving there. So they're building featureless panel high-rises in suburban areas with no amenities other than a bus that takes you to work in the city. I've seen a statistic that while Soviet housing could last decades until planned renovations, some of these suburban ghettos for starbucks wageslaves get torn down and renovated before they are even built
I am so glad we were saved from totalitarianism and can enjoy efficient capitalism
Jeremiah Brown
ads on transit and ads in general are cancer, the trams here are fully covered instead of just having a sign like they used to under socialism transit will have informational bulletins of all kinds and it'll be presented through those signs instead of covering the whole damn tram
Attached: old tram.jpg (1024x576
838.16 KB, 443.36K)
Isaac Hughes
Got an article in English about that?
Wyatt Morris
funny enough it's poland i was talking about all along and yes, the new areas are exactly the same shit as western block buildings are today gray, featureless, and out in fucking nowhere it's why they kicked out the poor tenants of those commie blocks, because they already had all the infrastructure close by that makes them very valuable
what's wrong with art or putting on some cute stuff though. i mean i know it's advertising for the anime, duh, but if it was just cute or really neat images without the advertising context instead of just monotone colors that'd be pretty damn cool imo
Juan Richardson
meh, colourful exteriors on transport are gaudy. I'd prefer them to be monotone but all for art and informative video screens being placed inside, instead of ads
TOTALITARIAN METRO STATIONS AND BUS STOPS GANG
Isaiah Green
Maybe if the embargo wasn't choking them they could freely exchange for the resources they desperately need. The poverty of Cuba is directly linked to the USA you dishonest turdbrain
Jordan Wood
Tbh the socialist thing to do would be to celebrate the free exercise of human capacities by allowing artists to paint public transit and dull grey commieblocks with murals and shit.
