This is a phenomenon present in non-English-speaking boards, too. At least here, almost all Spanish-speaking boards are right-wing, with a single place being mostly anarchists and communists and it isn't as active as the big ones filled with fashies.

When you actually do regard something as true and inviolably so, it becomes more difficult to adopt an ironic pose. It isn't absolutely impossible, but the comedy at that point becomes more abstruse and less understandable to outsiders. Fascists simply use symbols and ideas available in the environment, without having anything they regard as true to the extent that they're unwilling to violate its status as true.
I imagine this is one reason as to why right-wing ideology is popular: it requires almost nothing in belief but passive acceptance. I doubt it's the sole reason, though.

It's an interesting question but I don't think it has an interesting answer. The same thing could be asked as to why leftbook exists - which is well known for being incredibly cult-like and essentially built on networks of subverting other people in order to become "more lefter" than other people, no matter the cost.
You can write off fascism as some totally irrational brainlet modus operandi (like >>2665324 ), but you're really not digging deeper into questions of why people become fascist and what that really means to them and for everyone else - again, as here refers to it as "bullshit", the concept of fascism as "hot air" rather than some serious intellectual and social phenomenon that would perhaps be worth developing a sincere understanding of. The fact of the matter is that it's just unpopular and more social consequences exist for being seen to be very "right" more so than exist for being perceived as very "left".

Mostly anti-Putin and dominated by pro-Western right-liberals, but with a good diversity of views and a decent amount of socialists to balance it out. The discussion was centered largely on Russian topics and general political theory, with all kinds of viewpoints from Marxist to neo-Nazi.
What happened then? Around an year ago kids who looked at too many pepes on vk.com started flooding over. Suddenly instead of talking about Russia we started discussing American feminists and niggers while desperately pretending all this SJW shit is relevant to us. Raging at twitter posts from two continents away instead of politics. 2ch turned into a badly translated colony of Zig Forums and the average poster I.Q. (which wasn't that great to begin with) dropped by orders of magnitude.
Makes me wish we made a Great Firewall of Russia already.

This is one factor in its appeal, but that wouldn't be an explanation of fascism in general, though.
