One korea

Scenes from the DPRK.

LOOK AT ALL THESE ACTORS

They are just pretending not to notice the camera. There are agents hiding behind the (fake, movie set) walls that will kidnap them if they do. Two agents for every actor.

I heard they have to all pretend to be happy or 50 generations of their family get brutally raped and murdered in death camps.

The woman on the right is looking at baby food, which is clearly the only thing North Koreans eat because they're forced to by the regime as a way of infantilizing them before the Dear Leader.

I needed to tell you this was good.

Are you all ignoring the OBVIOUS sweatshop in the basement of that tower? I read that Kim pisses on them from the 6th and they all have to say "Its a bad day for rain" or they get turned into those little flags.

I'm an independent expert on North Korean totalitarianism and I can confirm that this sign in the clothes store reads "Keep on acting for the camera or you will get shot – love, Kim".

Actors. Actors. Actors.

You are all actors.

None of you are free of totalitarianism.

Lol, do you commies live under a rock? The originals were leaked two months ago.

CUT!

Min-jung, how many times do I have to tell you that first you show the clerk the cereal box and ONLY AFTER you pick up that jar of pickles!

upvoted

These aren't even actors, their paint/plaster covered corpses from the death camps being posed for propaganda photos. Everyone you see in these photos probably died months ago.

It's not even corpses. They have all rotten away years ago. It's just an realistic animation, by Russian hackers.

Damn you're right. If you look closely you can see that they're not moving at all, it's like they're frozen in time.

everyone knows that they spend their whole military budget on developing animatronics
five nights of pyongyan
soon

More proof that commies are the real nazis smh

5 nights in Pyongyang is where you have to hold a picture of Kim Il Sung to protect you from the animatronics like garlic and vampires

Best.
I almost believed it until I enlarged the image.

Sorry I missed the anti-North Korean hysteria. Is that what the West accuses North Korea of?

If only China looked like this. Thanks Deng.

Oh nononononono

Yes, and it’s hilarious.

Just a few years back when the DPRK was struggling more economically and Pyongyang was more depressed, grey and quiet, it was used as a prime example of totalitarianism (there are hardly any cars! Look at the doom tower they’ve built!)

Now Pyongyang is a vibrant, bustling city with lots of new, colorful buildings and the Ryugyong Hotel is much closer to completion and now the whole city is just a setpiece to fool Westerners into thinking that North Korea isn’t 1984 IRL, and everyone you see are just actors or otherwise made to play a role in this city-sized stage.

It's also taking part in a real estate privatisation experiment. They wouldn't be engaging in such things without a reason. It's possible Kim Jong Un isn't as committed to socialism as his father and grandfather. Don't be surprised if North Korea reforms into a capitalist country like Cuba or Vietnam in the not-so-distant future.

That’s in Sinuiju, not Pyongyang.

...

Not a good move. They’re opening themselves up to be wiped out by the next crash.

DPRK going full capitalist and leftists defend it.

Soon it will be like China and the leftists will continue to defend it.

Have you seen their workplaces? I work in a factory and the factories I've seen in North Korea look cleaner, more efficient and over all safer than the place I work in the US

I defend it on the grounds of anti-imperialism while still acknowledging that it isn't perfect.

To be fair while it seems that Pyongyang and other major cities can be quite prosperous, it’s entirelt possible that there are other parts of the country that are very poor. While I sincerely hope that things are going well in the DPRK, it seems to me that it’s impossible to know for sure what’s really happening there due to the major lack of unbiased information.

dam u right I feel so bad now. Gonna go apologise to all those philosopher kings on twitter
