The Amazon change basically raises everyone's compensation or keeps it the same. VCP needed to die.
The bonuses were related to attendance and quota-meeting, and could be up to 16% of a workers pay during some months. Another way to think about this is that not meeting quotas or taking (optional, unpaid) days off resulted in a pay penalty, which this change removed.
