One of the reason Somalia is at war is because the government is a Frankenstein fusion of warlords and foreign backed governments, many people who have commirlted atrocious crimes to the Somali people during 1990-2000 are parts of this government. Of course the sons who have seen their fathers killed and mothers raped by these militias would not bow down to them. Somalia is a country where "noble" tribes rule over the lesser since time immemorial the only time equality was ever achieved was when the Islamic courts union implemented Sharia law and declared a kritarchy, but soon after the US funded former warlords backed by an invasion of Ethiopia. This radicalized a faction from the ICU creating Al-shabaab aka Al quada in the horn of Africa. The government is held in place by a peacekeeping mission.
In areas the control they've restarted collectivist farming and redistributed the wealth of the richest cattle herders and farmers to the poorest.
Somalia is in an artificial state of war because the world supports a filthy government backed by mercenaries, In less than a month the country would be unified all fighting would stop if the world stops supporting them

Get your facts straight. The Socialist government of Barre was rapidly industrializing the country with the aid of the USSR, and his specific brand of islamic nationalist socialism was more popular among the people than straight up shariah could have ever been. When the USSR stopped backing them and the USA started their coup, the country fell apart. Seems like another victim of American Capitalist (imperialist) ambitions to me.

Strangely I was actually at one of these stupid left vs. right rallies and this Somali bus driver who just got off work came up to ask what was going on. He wanted to know who the different factions were and so on. I started pointing out various white-power types, which was not a fan of, then explained one side were "communists" (and they were) he went like "what do you mean communists? Do you mean Lenin?" And I went yeah and he went "huh."
Then he said that it was all a bunch of B.S. and the true path was Islam. So there ya go.
