As Pakistan seeks IMF bailout, US intensifies pressure on Islamabad
Pakistan’s newly elected Islamic populist government has begun negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on an emergency bailout. In televised remarks Oct. 10, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan’s foreign reserves fell last month to $8.4 billion, which scarcely exceeds the total Islamabad must pay on outstanding government debt in the remainder of 2018, leaving the government no choice but to turn to the IMF. Khan said he would also be seeking financial help from “friendly countries,” which was universally interpreted to mean China and Saudi Arabia.

Beto O’Rourke’s Ted Cruz Challenge Has Texas Business Cheering
in what has been a surprisingly competitive race for the U.S. Senate in Texas, there’s one clear winner beginning to emerge: the state’s business community.Companies looking for action on immigration, health care, trade and other core issues have seen upside in O’Rourke’s challenge. It sends a message to Cruz, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, that he needs to be more attentive to the needs of his Texas constituents, said Mark Jones, a political science professor at Rice University in Houston.

You ready for multipolarity comrade? Because I sure fucking am.

Shit.
Eh, stand with the USA against european imperialism, I guess.

Venezuela about to get invaded, and another 500k dead kids will be "worth it".

I mean anti-capitalistism is on the rise in Europe due to Trump, so eh.

I would like to see the yanks try: it will be another Vietnam.
Besides, yesterday Spain announced a radical change to its Venezuela policy and this indicates the EU will too. The US won't have the gaul to go-in alone, not while it has issues with Iran also.

Not noticing a whole lot of it in my country though. Maybe other places.

But on another note

Anti-burgerism autocorrects to anti-capitalistism, if you get what I mean.
Also if V A R O U does well in the EP elections, we may see some spicy shit.

Wait I dont really keep up with how the EU works since voting is a sham anyway but can we vote for motorbikeboi? If so when?

The Future of Capitalism Is San Francisco on Steroids
While the first dot-com bubble burst around the new millennium, investment still hung around, eventually glomming onto the social networks and so-called disruption that was happening here. There was money to be made, after all, in global advertising, and by taking advantage of legislators who didn’t know when new markets were whipped up under their noses by web applications like Airbnb and Uber. Money chased money, the spigot kept flowing………….

The multi-billion-dollar business of American trade unions
More than 7,000 workers are currently on strike at Marriott International hotels in eight US cities. The housekeepers, servers, cooks, doormen and other hotel workers, many of whom earn $11 an hour or less, are fighting for improved wages, medical benefits and working conditions at the world’s largest hotel chain. The workers walking the picket lines have been put on starvation strike rations by UNITE HERE, which is working to isolate and help defeat the separate struggles. After a week, workers qualify for a meager $300 per week strike benefits, or $60 a day—though only if they have put in at least 30 hours on the picket lines.

Breaking Brexit: England's difficulty is Ireland's opportunity – by George Galloway
The chickens of Britain's Irish problem are coming home to roost & making a ‘hard Brexit’ whereby the UK crashes out of the EU without a deal – a frightening possibility to London and what is left of the ‘big capital’.Though that's not the worst that could happen to Theresa May and her threadbare government over the next days and weeks.

I'm not a DiEM member (being a britbong, and I'm eurosceptic), but I admire Varoufakis for what he is trying to do. Still though, at the euros you may be better off with PS.

3% of the Venezuelan population is under arms, while the US could seize Caracas with ease the rural interior is massively Chavista: mostly due to the fact Chavez electrified their towns, stopped a lot of mineral extraction (ironically to the national economy's deficit), and let them speak their native language. Add to that they were little hit by the inflation crisis due to their local food production. As such, they would fight the US like motherfuckers, and I compare it to Vietnam purely because it is exactly the same terrain.

Isn't the idea to do what they did with Afghanistan? secure needed resources and have everything be a secondary problem.

Muh coal! Muh coal jobs!

WINNING

The US doesn’t need to be able to handle another Afghanistan, they just need drones that can. My cousin is a soldier in the US military and he explained that in the bases almost everyone there works on drone repair and drone operation. The US just tries to control resource extraction points which can be guarded by drones bombing any soldier that tries to approach said points. Helicopters can carry supplies. Very few soldiers are sent out into combat.

It would need to invade the country, you can't drone a nation into submission. Add to that drones aren't that useful in jungles.

You do what was done in Afghanistan and Iraq, a massive air bombing assault followed by arming of local fringe political groups with weapons. These groups together with special forces take control of key infrastructure areas, while the army of the country your attacking is bombed into oblivion.

You cut the trees in a five hundred foot circle around the oil well.

Codeword for "bumfuck nowhere", as nearly 90% of the population lives in an urban area.
Doubt it. Access to electricity reached 98% in 1995. Define "massively".
Venezuela is not Paraguay. Only 2.7% of the population identifies as indigenous, but not that many speak their languages. Can you tell me any government programs or processes available in an indigenous language? Where can they use them now, where they couldn't have used them before Chávez? 57.3% of that 2.7% (1.55% of the population) identify as Wayuu. Can you get a national ID using only Wayuunaiki?
Venezuela imports most of what it consumes. They just patched the hole with the oil they were selling at $120/bbl.
