Telesur

How valid are the claims of Telesur, and how legitimate is this channel in general? I hear some claims of it that are largely unsubstantiated elsewhere and seem extraordinary, such as that 43% of Americans view socialism favorably, while just 32% view capitalism favorably (youtube.com/watch?v=6P97r9Ci5Kg). Even some more reasonable claims I have trouble finding evidence for that doesn't ultimately come back to them in source, like that the majority of Russians want the USSR and socialism back (telesurtv.net/english/news/Poll-Most-Russians-Prefer-Return-of-Soviet-Union-and-Socialism-20160420-0051.html). Does this channel have a bias, and how large is it if so? I also think it's strange this thing is run by Venezuela, which is kind of failing in its implementation of socialism with most of its economy being privatized and its leaders being selected based on loyalty to the party rather than experience – this being far from the sort of knowledgeability demonstrated by Telesur, which seems rather much more knowing on the topic of socialism.

They're good but they've been shilling for Erdogan recently given Turkey and Venezuela have good relations now.

They seem pretty good but honestly that thing about americans preferring socialism to capitalism isn't that of a surprise considering that of that 43% probably less than 1% know what socialism actually is.

Like RT, it's a news source that will always follow the party line and avoid stepping on the feet of the people who fund it. Everything that the Russian or Venezuelan government says is presented as an undeniable fact.

Ofcourse it's propaganda, what did you expect? All media has some political goal, perhaps with the exception of your local neighbourhood paper with articles about the upcoming knitting contest (and even then local papers can contain plenty of politics)
The correct question would be if we can trust telesur more than american (state) media? Telesur has clearly explained the mechanisms through which economic sabotage happens. Anti-venezuelan media tells horror stories of shortages but has thus far been unable to clearly explain what is causing it, and "socialism" is not a reason. Telesur is biased and covers up wrongdoings of the government but they're still significantly more trustworthy than the imperialist media trying to get people to stomach a coup when it comes

keep your eyes on the sky, if anti-venezuelan propaganda starts ramping up massively, a coup is probably getting prepared
theres a venezuela thread btw

Suck it

He’s not wrong though, however that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth anything. Like you said all media has political agendas. It’s just a matter of taking what you read with a grain of salt and looking for corroboration from a wider array of other sources.

Telesur English is dogshit these days, they are basically run by a bunch of imperialist shitheads. The Spanish version is still decent.

How's Telesur English imperialist?

TeleSur is not just controlled by the Venezuelan government but by lots of Latin American governments and managed by an international committee that even includes American celebrities like Danny Glover.

To say that TeleSur is the party organ of the PSUV is propaganda.

They celebrate Mao on their instagram page. Looks a bit strange next to posts where they praise Jeremy Corbyn.

how come i already knew before i enlarged that inage that there would be some boomer tier comments about "MAO KILLED 300 GORILLION PEOPLE SORRY KID IT'S JUST THE FACTS"?
and these people have the audacity to call other people (mainly north koreans) brainwashed.

The concept of unbiased media is inherently anti-Marxist, the class conflict is fought on the ideological stage, and therefore media like anything else. The mainstream considers "political centrism" to be the unbiased position which is patently absurd. The real question is, does X media competently represent the proletarian interests?

The vast majority of its funding comes from the Venezuelan government and its headquarters are in Caracas, Venezuela (This was normal for entertainment channels 10 years ago, but news channels? Unheard of). The participation of the other 4 countries is minor, but it's not like there is any conflict between any of them and Venezuela.

Also, why do they still put "HD" on their logo? Nobody does that shit nowadays. not even the only HD channel available in Venezuelan digital TV (Corazón Llanero).

It's just VTV with some bells and whistles.

Forgot that TLT is also in HD, but not on digital TV, just satellite.

You venezuelan bro?
