Mexico general.
I haven't found any compilation of communism in Mexico, and I have a brainlet tier knowledge of Mexican history, but some highlights in no particular order:
>There have been communist parties, mostly defunct. There are many small anarchist and communist unions (not sure if any is on the ballot), with representation in basically all large cities. Some I have found: Partido Comunista de Mexico, Federación de Jóvenes Comunistas, Union Anarchosindicalista (UAS) with facebook pages for different states and/or cities. The UAS Monterrey Facebook page has some particularly based memes facebook.com/anarcosindicalistasmty/

Anyways, what are you chairos up to? Have you been to a socialist meeting?
Do you personally know any fascist? Do you personally know any other communist? Have you ever tried to agitate at your workplace? What do you think AMLO has in store for us?

English wikipedia says they're Maoist, but spanish wikipedia says they're standard MLs.
Here's their political program:
web.archive.org/web/20070715154120/http://www.pdpr-epr.org/doctos_basicos/objetivos.htm
Objectives:
< The seizing of political power
2. La instauración de la dictadura del proletariado.
< The establishment of DoP.
3. La construcción del socialismo en las condiciones de México y con sus particularidades.
< The construction of socialism in Mexico's condition and with its particularities
It's divided in two parts, the maximum program (full comunism), and the minimum program (generally reforms under capitalism). I'm not sure what characterizes maoism as opposed to ML. All of the demands are 100% based. Couldn't disagree with any one of them. They even included LGBT rights. If that's not enough, they also make it very clear that the minimum program should go hand in hand with the maximum program.
< The minimum program must not be separated from the maximum program, because the struggle for socialism is lost in the limited struggle of the masses for their demands. A revolutionary movement that does not contemplate the close relationship between the minimum and maximum program, lacks a revolutionary strategic vision and will not be able to create the firm foundations that will allow the triumph of the socialist revolution.
Absolutely based.

A question to any mexican anons here, are most mexican communists trotskyists?

BASED FOURTH

Attached: IMG_3356.jpg (400x405, 122.33K)

From what I gather, most are either anarchist or run of the mill MLs.
Anecdotally, I know only one other self-proclaimed communist and he's a pro-capitalist red-liberal at best.

This pdf will help, it's long but it does give you what self-declared Marxist-Leninist-Maoists see as differences between themselves and the MLs of old

It's either socdems or ☭TANKIE☭s, i hang out with amlover socdems and try to say communist shit tho

Mexibros, soon our comrades among the USA here, Canada, and Greenland will create socialist republics, then we all can unite in a big socialist union!

Have you been to any socialist gathering?

Reminder that zapatistas are now gay cuz they fell for thr idpol meme

Also, here, both spectrums (fascism /communism) are LARP, at least in the middle classes, I'm sure some lower class people are actually serious, but, a lot of the 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧college students🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 are brainwashing them into Idpol

he's doing good

Has he said/done anything of note since getting elected? I know he's not in office yet.

Still can't understand why some retards are against the migrant caravan. Like, just let them through? These idiots should be pooling their money together to get them to the US as quickly as possible, and hence, out of Mexico.

Besides cancelling the airport, he will also move many secretaries to different cities instead of having them all in Mexico city. Secretary of Tourism in Cancun, for example.

Was the PRI ever good?

Attached: 1200px-PRI_logo_(Mexico).svg.png (1200x1203, 40.83K)

jajajaja how is this propaganda. thanks though.

yes, Lázaro Cárdenas was absolutely based and part of the PRI party. One must understand that PRI was the ruling party for 70 years, if you wanted to be in politics, you were in PRI. There have been other leftists in the PRI, but big doubt if they were any good. The PRD came from the PRI, which was left wing party, now center left at best. Wikipedia lists them as part of the internal socialists, but their polticial ideology keynesianism and social democracy. There's also PT (Labor Party) which seems properly left in it's origins but now seems to have degraded. The PT have made coalitions with bigger parties such as the religious conservative party PAN. Maybe a strategic move, maybe just politicians being politicians.
I don't know enough about PT, I might dive in a little to see what they're about…

PRI also tended to play a "good cop, bad cop" routine when they're put up a more left-leaning president one cycle, then move to the right; rinse and repeat. Mexican election terms are also single-term of six years so they'd constantly cycle them out.

even asking that question should get your assets freezed and nationalized you fucking Callista

Yo lo conozco más por su amor al fascismo.

The PRI used to be good people, now there something else.

What're your guys takes on AMLO? When I lived in Mexico I mostly hung with PAN types so I haven't really heard many left-wing perspectives on him beyond empty amlove mafia del poder talking points
The "consultas" and his national security policy kinda worry me, but the ninibecas program seems cool and I like how socially progressive his party is.

the people i'm closest to think he's a complete idiot. i don't know that much about it honestly, but it really bothers me that he has run for president multiple times and has switched parties like 3 times… plus, he is now working with corrupt politicians at least one of whom admitted to rigging an election in the '90s…

Chingados, la verdad yo sí tengo fé de que este gobierno nos dará una oportunidad de avanzar las condiciones materiales para la emancipación de la clase obrera en el país. No se vale soñar?

I heard his inauguration speech was very based, I didn't watch it myself. I have several reservations. The most obvious one being that socdems usually betray the working class at some point. Before he was inaugurated he had already set up a committee of advisors, comprised of the country's top businessmen, including people who were made rich by government corruption. His top advisors are famously corrupt officials, as said. A notable capitalist advisor is the billionaire(?) Alfonso Romo.
There is an economic storm brewing, a global crisis seems likely before the end of his presidency (6 years) and it will most definitely be blamed on him. I fear for the reputation of the Mexican left.
He has an almost cult of personality, and the working class is very riled up for the so called "4th revolution". His proposals are pretty out there and seem unlikely that he'll successfully pull most of them off.
Leftists should try to take advantage of people's enthusiasm of the 4th revolution to organize the working class. Any working class organization feels unlikely in the conservative northeastern city of Monterrey, where I'm from, and where probably lived.
As for dreaming, I'm optimistic about AMLO compared to other presidents, but pesimistic on his campaign promises. In capitalism, porkies always win in the end, this nigga better be hiding his commie power-level.

I’m in Monterrey too. Let’s get the ball rolling.

Soy un gringo en Texas. We need cross-border networks between Morena committees in the cities here and with local left groupuscles. D*SA likely candidate for this.

Attached: morena.png (706x694, 623.3K)

I lived in Chihuahua, and while I personally didn't know many leftists or AMLO supporters he did win the vote here by a pretty significant amount. People are really disillusioned with the two main parties. The kind of people who go on Zig Forums and their friends aren't exactly a fair sample of the overall population.
I agree that we need to take advantage of this sentiment and have been thinking about it lately. I've seen a lot of people push alt-right talking points in Mexican social media, just like what happened in the US, and it's imperative that we stop that from getting bigger. Maybe it's too late for my comrades here in the states but there's still a chance to push people away from kneejerk reactions to SJWs and whatnot. There's a lot of anger and desire for change, but I'm afraid of how that will manifest.
I feel some hope because it seems like a lot of the bilingual people already familiar with that bullshit are quick to counter the typical "two sexes chromosomes feminism is literally hitler" talking points with actual facts and logic. We've already seen this play out on the anglosphere and know exactly how reactionaries will try to manipulate the conversation.

The number one problem is the Venezuela question. It's no secret that shit is fucked over there and any mistake AMLO makes will be compared to what Maduro and Chavez did. Obviously the real causes for the crisis are more nuanced but the popular message is that it's because left wing politics by nature lead to that stuff. How do we deal with all of that baggage?

There doesn't seem to be any genuine leftist movements in my city so no.
I once saw a PCM grafitti near a mall so that was neat.

I'm cautious because while I'm glad that the PRI is out and some of his proposals sound very good, his party is filled with ex-PRIstas and corruption is omnipresent.

At least in my city most groups seem to be either Marxist Leninist or anarchists, I have never met a group or person that identified as Trtoskyist here, this seems to be more common in south american countries,

He is the best president we have had in a long time but that doesn't mean he is perfect, he still has a lot of problems, but in contrast to most commie groups from my cities I do support him, while having in mind that it is necessary to be very critical of him and not just blindly praise him as many seem to do.
If you only hang out with PAN types you will probably only hear he is an stupid idiot but he is not as stupid as he seems, at the very least he was the only in these elections that seemed to identify the root of many of the problems Mexico had and for some of those problemas he was also the only one to propose something different from what we have had in the last 30 years and that might actually help to solve these problems. He also seemed to have the most complete program of all the candidates these elections.
There are many problems with him, but he was undoubtedly the best choice these elections and he does represent a change in what we have had in Mexico since Salinas. It is important though to have in mind that in the end his only a sucdem.

Yo también vivo aquí en Monterrey, están con algún grupo de aquí de la ciudad? Yo estuve con un grupo marxista leninista pero lo dejé hace poco.

So I heard somewhere the zapatistas make coffee. Anyone know where to buy it to support them?

Attached: (Ɩ) ɐƃɹɐɔsǝp.png (300x250, 22.88K)

Agreed, but isn't such a crisis already much less likely to occur in Mexico because the economy is quite diversified whereas Venezuelan exports consist for over 80% of petroleum products?

why though

That's not stopping the right wingers from blanketly opposing any left wing policies they dislike because of >vUvUzUeLa. Anything any left wing politician does is compared to Venezuela. There needs to be some serious effort on our end to deal with that bad PR, even if there's no relation with what we want and Venezuela's shitty narco-state people think there is.

they weren't legit PAN militants or anything, they just happened to have voted PAN because Anaya was the dude they disliked less. think the average politically apathetic person that bought into the anti-amlo stuff but isn't a full blown derechairo

So do any of you guys know a legit fascist?
Are they even still a thing nowadays?

PAN militants are fascists waiting to happen; that party is a copy of Mussolini´s party back in the 1930s.

The idiotic move AMLO is making is cancelling an airport in Mexico City. He´s just taunting international investments and that is what will kill his proyect from the start.

I heard that the only investors hurt by the cancelation of the project were the mexican bourgeoisie, like Slim and friends, since they allegedly owned all the sorrounding land. The PAN outrage was severely exagerated, as if their life depended on the fucking airport, ffs. It all stank of propaganda. Why exactly is it a bad move? It was ridiculously expensive and unnecessary afaik.

conservatives are at most explicitly poor and brown hating. I have only ever met one person which I would consider fascist. He's very Catholic and loves Celtic and German imagery. No one takes him seriously though.

I truly hope so lad, knowing how big the corruption is in Mexico, I wouldn´t be surprised most of the airport bonds were held by companies involved in its construction. Yet by now a lot of bonds could be held by "fondos buttres", and that would mean a long fight like they had in Argentina.

Goddamn. Source?

Sure.

What do you all think about Rius? It's how my dad introduced me to communism, and also how he was introduced to it when he was young.

Attached: FB_IMG_1533872979195.jpg (480x491 23.37 KB, 33.51K)

I love Rius´books but also check out Abel Quezada. He was very funny and a very good eye into Mexican politics.

Exactly. I'm from Tabasco and I haven't met any outright communists (unless one of my preparatory teachers was hiding it) but almost everyone here except upper class people and youths who frequent places like /v/ are definitely left-leaning and/or AMLO supporters. And I'm not talking about the idpol """"liberals"""" who, just like the aforementioned "redpilled" shitposters, have been popping up in Mexico in the last two years; I'm talking about teachers, workers, farmers, poor people who are mostly Christfags. Of course that's good, but those are all people who are older than me and I'm honestly concerned about the future of the Mexican left and its reputation because people my age and younger (the next generations of workers) are absorbing all the propaganda and "ideologies" from the US they see on social media faster than ever. There's a glimmer of hope that things don't turn out so wrong since I know a kid who's a couple years younger than me who voted for AMLO, meaning not all young adults who are exposed to American internet culture have been brainwashed, they just don't openly admit it due to fear of rejection.
What do you propose we do? And do you think it's too late to stop SJW influence from tainting the left?

Kind of unrelated but I met IRL with an internet friend in Mexico City, he was a very chill leftist guy (no idea if an actual communist), interesting to talk to, and while he has some faith in AMLO, he doesn't treat him as a messiah. Are all uni students in Mexico City this based?

Attached: ganbare-amlo-nippon.jpg (660x493, 231.94K)

Mexico is completely cucked my lad. I visit UNAM often and all I see is stale Marxists yearning for the 68 days or young lads completely disconnected from any theory. No real organization whatsoever, everybody praying AMLO will somehow turn a leftist jaja. All that guy will do is just discredit the little left we have so Mexico will turn a hard right 6 years from now.

Given how Mexico is America's next door neighbor, I'd say this is tolerable in the short term. If nothing else, AMLO's victory is slowly becoming a source of astronomical butthurt from right wing burgers that think he's a Stalinist.

Awesome, I'll check it out.

He's definitely not gonna deliver 100% on what he has promised, but if he does well enough and the next Morena candidate is decent, I think they could win and continue where AMLO left off. Of course I'm being idealistic here but that's the best case scenario for me.
He has said some contradictory shit but I'd rather think that it means he's just being careful, hiding his real intentions to not be assassinated, not being shady and thinking of screwing us over.
I trust him for the most part, but it's more based on faith. I can only hope he doesn't betray us, but I've only heard from people who knew him personally during his uni years that he's a genuinely honest guy, so that makes me have more faith in him.

We pretty much have to take initiative and counter all that alt right bullshit with our own leftist social media. I have no doubts that there are coordinated efforts from the right wing to push alt-right disinformation onto social media.

Once I'm more educated I'm considering starting a Youtube channel in the style of hbomberguy or Contrapoints that presents leftist talking points in an accessible way. Shitposting and obscure marxist jargon will only get us so far. I seriously wish I had found Contrapoints years ago, because while I inherently understood and believed a lot of leftist ideas I didn't really know how to describe them or which side was actually fighting for them until she described capitalism to me with lizards.
I see Contrapoints as a great model to follow because she doesn't preach to the choir. I always see people from the right commenting on her videos saying that they appreciate her channel for presenting leftist talking points in a genuine way, and she's certainly helped make these people think more critically and at the very least understand that there's more to the left/right debate than "feminazi bad pinochet good".

It's never too late to stop leftychairo/sjw influence from tainting the left. While we can't shut those idiots up we can try to drown them up with higher quality messaging and try to educate people on what we actually want and why.

r/mexico is filled with lolbertarians and unironic derechairos

been thinking about putting together a youtube channel myself recently. not really sure what kind of videos I'd upload.

Mexico needs a revolution as much as the USA does. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I've heard that some towns are so dangerous that the people formed actual militias there and patrol the streets because they can't trust the cops to do so themselves, either out of fear or because they were paid off by the cartels (the same people waging war on the cartels are being paid by the cartels…).

Get that shit on lockdown. We're counting on you down there.

Alright lads, how do I show my brother the bueaty of reading theory? He's the typical zoomer
He's pretty hyped up with Cruz Azul vs América, I haven't been paying much attention to fútbol are there any /ourguys/ so I can show him? I've already showed him some footage of the Soviet Union marches(cause he's a fucking kid and would find it cool)

Attached: Zapata.jpg (750x1064, 388.24K)

You are going to have to wait until he's actually an adult.

Well he's not really a kid. He's in his teens.

It really helps if he's worked before. You could start by explaining how labor is the source of economic value. It's not a hard concept and it's central to Marxism. If he were my brother, I would rather tell him about marxist theory and encourage him to read fiction (whatever really). Sooner or later, he'll say some stupid shit either for or against SJWs. Be ready to apply the full force of anti-ideological, spook busting, anti-capitalist theory. Try not to be too autistic.

Iba a involucrarme en círculos de lectura de Antifa NL, y a Comunistas Unidos, pero no ha habido mucha bulla en esa dirección últimamente.

Venezuela was an achievement in fake-left populism, AMLO probably couldn't turn Mexico into that kind of shitshow if he tried. Seems like a harmless socdem to me.

que chingaos estoy leyendo

Central Mexico = Chilangolandia
Northern Mexico = Rancheros + Maquiladoras
Southern Mexico = Imperialised Mayas and pedo tourists.

The guy is a neoliberal well disguised. He wants to subsidize the payroll for young lads on first employment. He wants to build that fucking Maya train which seems like an ecological disaster and he´s surrounded by capitalists. He´s just going to fuck up Mexico.

Like I said, sounds like a typical socdem. If he was a neoliberal he would be screeching autistically about privatization of everything.

except subsidies are neoliberal not succdem. it's supply instead of demand side.

So how big a deal is the EZLN in Chiapas actually?
I hear about them controlling the Mexican Border with Guatemala as basically an autonomous region but at the same time I hear their influence has been waning since the 90s?

That is just fantasy, they control some areas in 3 municipalities and that all.
They are almost invisible in today's Mexico, there was an independent candidate for Mexico's precedency, Marychuy that some in the EZLN supported, but aside from that they have fallen into obscurity.

AMLO is a SocDem at best, people from the EZLN accuse him of serving the capitalist powers, and they are right about it.
but the right wing press in Mexico is exploiting the situation, the want confrontation with the EZLN and AMLO, but people in Mexico don't trust the Zapatistas and view them as minions of the PRI.

This is really impressive resource.
I didn't know the EPR had a newsletter. It's pretty long but it has all sorts of things, like poetry, news, analysis. November: cedema.org/uploads/El_insurgente-190.pdf
It's strange to read articles from EZLN, EPR and other Communist parties. Most of the media and opinions I read and hear is rightist, while the most radical ones I read are at best right of center but eco-friendly. It's as if no-one has ever even considered that neo-liberalism is fucking us over or that we should do something about our state of affairs. It's strange to see opinions that are more radical than "we should shame people that use plastic straws", and are actually, "we should and will have an armed revolution now because capitalism will be our death". Where the fuck are the communists in my city ffs???
