Hillary Clinton: Europe must curb immigration to stop rightwing populists
In an interview with the Guardian, the former Democratic presidential candidate praised the generosity shown by the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, but suggested immigration was inflaming voters and contributed to the election of Donald Trump and Britain’s vote to leave the EU.“I think Europe needs to get a handle on migration because that is what lit the flame,” Clinton said, speaking as part of a series of interviews with senior centrist political figures about the rise of populists, particularly on the right, in Europe and the Americas.

Thank you based News user!!!

nothing wrong with this idea in general, just the general Trumpist application of it tends to be retarded.
this is what China does: they focus on expanding their industry via African countries, rather than tearing down the government because of minor trade disagreement. if Europe stopped treating the middle east like they did Libya and Syria they'd literally be fine.

she's right. The mass immigration and refugees are giving the far right an open to really the troops. This will lead to more far right getting elected and possibly the end of the EU. Ironically the eurocrats hard on for protecting rapeugees will be their downfall

hi

She's doing it because she is a cynical hack: remember the "Superpredator" stuff in the 90s?

U.S. spending $72 million for troops to do nothing at the border
For reasons still unclear, President Trump has stationed nearly 6,000 troops at the southern border. This political stunt, the Pentagon now reports, will cost U.S. taxpayers $72 million. Combined with the $138 million spent on the 2,100 National Guard troops that have been deployed there since April, that brings the total cost of securing the border this year to $210 million.

US companies are using an ingenious method to game the system and avoid the worst of Trump's trade war
American companies may be finding an ingenious way to skirt around the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on importing Chinese goods, as a means of avoiding the financial hit caused by the 25% taxes.According to a note from Paul Donovan, the global chief economist for UBS Wealth Management, some US firms are likely funnelling imports from China through other foreign subsidiaries, say in Canada, before finally importing them into the US. This allows companies to continue importing from China while dodging tariffs.

The Case Against WikiLeaks is a Threat to All Journalists
The Justice Department has prepared criminal charges against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and is working behind the scenes to have him extradited to the United States. Press freedom and the right to dissent may hang in the balance. The criminal charges were accidentally revealed last week when Assange’s name was found on the court filing of an unrelated case, suggesting that prosecutors had copied a boilerplate text and forgotten to change the defendant’s name.

Amnesia, Lack of Accountability Reign as Wall Street Celebrates Halliburton’s 100-year Anniversary
When it comes to the ruling elite’s corporate plunder and crimes against humanity, the U.S. national memory’s short and no one, not even its political henchmen, assume blame or suffer real consequences: take Halliburton and former chief executive and U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney for example.

America’s Thanksgivings
In an effort to give a livelier and more in-depth picture of modern life, American novelists such as John Dos Passos—The 42nd Parallel (1930), 1919 (1932) and The Big Money (1936)—introduced “newsreel” sections including headlines, advertisements and popular songs. We hope the following selections will provide some sense of American reality on Thanksgiving Day 2018.

I fucking love this clusterfuck lmao

What do you think is the reason between the split between the CIA's and Trump's position of Saudi Arabia? Is it 4D chess or does Trump just like Salman for some reason?

because CIA are ideology-driven while Trump is money-driven.
it's the same reason Priests and Kings had disagreements when it came to imperialism.

What even is the CIA's ideology? It obviously not liberal democracy like they would claim. Can maintaining American hegemony and imperialism itself be considered an ideology?

They're both money-driven
The CIA is just very good at getting returns in investment, while trump is a hapless idiot who can't even effectively landlord and casino, the two positions where you can do little more than own stuff to be profitable. Trump is a grifter in the showman sense, but he doesn't know the first thing about investment, diplomacy, or international affairs. The CIA does all of these things very well, it's just completely evil.

Protectionism is the neoliberal line.
Thatcher didn't want to see a unified Germany, for instance, and NATO balked at the prospect of a demilitarized unified Germany.
Open borders has always been anathema to the hegemon. Immigration is only embraced by capital when they can strictly dictate the terms.

how is it not liberalism?

Because they have no problem toppling democracies and only care about human rights when they can use them as a justification for war against other countries.

what do you think the government tells them they're doing?
trust me I've met CIAniggers. they're literal "centrist" retards who think they're making the world a better, more peaceful place

cianiggers don't actually realize they're destroying peaceful countries for oil. see

1. Saudi Arabia is one of the most powerful members of OPEC (maybe the most powerful? I don't remember), challenging them openly would instantly invite higher gasoline prices. When you punish a country economically you're punishing first and foremost its people, not its leadership, so such actions have to be used with discretion-especially with a powerful trading partner

2. Saudi Arabia's killing of a journalist is literally nothing compared to their other well known human rights abuses which have all historically been swept under the rug or otherwise ignored-and the media hasn't ever really pressured previous administrations to "do something" about it as far as I recall

3. Trump wants to put economic pressure on Iran to keep them from competing with US and Israeli hegemony in the middle east (such as in Syria) and needs Saudi oil for that.

4. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes. The Trump administration could have used this unpopular event to squeeze even more oil favors from the Saudis, as Trump himself had alluded to in a tweet a few days ago.

how does this article disprove anything I said? the oil companies preferred Russia and China so that means America doesn't care about oil? lmao

Maybe the rank and file, but the higher ups have to know what the real deal is

I don't know whose post you're reading but considering what I'd written about the U.S. and Saudi relationship two seconds before I addressed you it probably wasn't mine.

Obviously the US cares about oil. However, if the war in Iraq was specifically about that oil from the beginning the United States probably wouldn't have spent trillions of dollars to topple Saddam (reuters.com/article/us-iraq-war-anniversary-idUSBRE92D0PG20130314), occupy Iraq for 8 years and then go on to hand over 86% of Iraq's oil to some of the their biggest competitors on the world stage pro bono. In fact that image seems to be a little outdated, this more recent chart from CNN (money.cnn.com/2016/06/07/investing/iraq-oil-production-record-high-isis/index.html) shows the U.S. taking an even worse drubbing in oil contracts.
