A 6-year-old boy from Texas is caught in two wars—one between separated and feuding parents, and another between changing concepts in psychology.
James, biologically male, is allegedly forced to wear girls clothes when in the custody of his mother. His mother has even enrolled him in the first grade under the name “Luna.” His mother has insisted that he dress like a girl since he was 3 years old.
When James is in the custody of his father, he is asked to choose what clothes he prefers. And he invariably chooses boy’s clothing.
James’ mother took her son to a female gender transition therapist when he was younger. The therapist, who specializes in helping children live with a sexual identity different from their physical genders, diagnosed James with gender dysphoria.
However, friends of the family told Walt Heyer in a publication for the Federalist that James only identifies as a girl when his mother is present. When James is with his father, he consistently identifies as a boy.
Gender Dysphoria is a pathetic Reagan-era attempt to re-stigmatize homosexuality. If "psychologists" weren't forced to normalize this bullshit via the DSM-III it wouldn't be a thing or a political issue.

Where is this from? I’m going to be honest, I’m dubious that this is child abuse. Or at least, dubiousnin the sense that it depends on how she does this stuff and how much her demands on him conflict with social norms. Making him wear a dress at school would seem to qualify as abuse because it’s putting him in an impossible position if he just wants to wear boys clothes and avoid being made fun of. But I don’t see how forcing your kid to wear a dress at home is anymore a form of child abuse than forcing them to wear certain clothes for church, or telling them they need to change out of their pajamas even though you aren’t not leaving the house, or telling them they’re bad or might go to hell if they don’t behave as their parents want them too, or that they should feel ashamed of saying or doing this or that in public.
It’s really about whether or not she is putting the kid under a great amount of stress due to conflicts of interest between public social norms and the expectations of his mom. He has to choose who to please, and either way it’s likely an uncomfortable outcome, and it is really the result of his mom’s behavior.
Ah, I found the article. This probably won’t go anywhere, but it is more odious. She wants to do hormone therapy on the kid when he turns 8 or something. But the article notes that the therapist has documented how the kid doesn’t identify as a girl when the mom isn’t around. Seems extremely doubtful the court would allow the mom to actually take custody and do that to the kid.

This pretty much, young children (and even adults tbh) are suspect able to observational learning. To dumb it down, it's basically monkey see monkey do on a deeper level. That said, if the child was forced, then that's autistic, since children don't really have a developed enough brain yet, and it starts really developing critical thinking around the age of 12.

This kid isn't being psychologically abused because of the gender bullshit. It's just an extremely potent illustration of what having two feuding parents does to a kid. You're forced to adopt two different identities, often the polar opposite to each other. When you're with your mother you gotta put up with mad ravings about how evil your dad is, and when your with the dad you get the same in reverse. That shit messes you up for life. I know because it did me in.

The thread's subject was on the problem of how we percieve gender in society, so I made the observation that binary distinctions reduce space for experimentation, clearly, children are trying to discover their place in society and if they are told that they can only be a boy or a girl then they will fall into one camp and remain uncomfortable and confused, if gender was not a primal aspect of our identity then there would be no pressure to conform to expectations. So I ask you what your thoughts on the gender binary was and you tell me to leave the board, you are being difficult here, I was simply offering my perspective, you didn't challenge it, you revoked it's legitimacy without a reason.
