Slavoj Zizek: Racism is alive and well in both Europe and Israel – with different victims
First, it would be interesting to learn how the percentage of those with a negative stance towards Jews compares to the percentage of those with a negative stance towards Muslims and Blacks – just to make sure that we don't find some racism unacceptable and another racism normal.Second, one should raise here the paradox of Zionist anti-Semitism: quite many European (and American) anti-Semites just don't want too many Jews in their own country but they fully support the expansion of Israel onto the West Bank. So, how do we count them? This brings us to the key question: how do we measure anti-Semitism? Where does the legitimate criticism of Israeli politics in the West Bank end and anti-Semitism begin? Let's explain this through some further observations.

The mass protests in France: A new stage in the international class struggle
On Saturday, 100,000 people took part in a series of mass “yellow vest” demonstrations throughout France against President Emmanuel Macron’s anti-worker fuel tax hike, in the most significant mass protests in the country since the May-June 1968 general strike. These events are a critical turning point not just for France and Europe, but for the entire world. Suppressed for decades, the eruption of social protest proclaims the reentry of the working class onto the stage of world history. The class struggle is again asserting itself as the driving force of historical progress.

A Killer Dies, a Teacher Lives: George H.W. Bush v. Noam Chomsky
The obsequious praise of the life and legacy of the now deceased mad-dog killer George H. W. Bush (1924-2018) on the supposedly liberal and left cable networks CNN and MSNBC this last weekend was really something. Some of this historical ass-kissing was practically comedic. I heard the power-worshipping “presidential historian” and occasional plagiarist Doris Kearns-Goodwin fondly recall getting stuck in the Bush’s Kennebunkport toilet. Daddy Bush graciously broke the bathroom lock with a hammer and then told Kearns-Goodwin, “well, at least you write well.” A special memory!

MUSK ON SUICIDE WATCH

two very different things m8.

Wtf I love the DUP now

What little they were doing about climate change is gone

Sixth Republic Soon

The only reason it's word filtered is because the bo does not like it. The whole point of a filter on the bored is that it annoy Zig Forumsacks and reactionaries not other leftist.

What is this pic supposed to represent exactly?

Useless if it's another bourgeois republic like the first five ones.

John Brown's Righteous Fucking Fury.

Yellow Vest is just Occupy 2.0.

it's different because OWS was so easy to subvert with the "progressive stack" and identity politics. OWS was organized, this is just chaos, porky won't be able to control it if it remains that way

Everything is chaos under heaven. The situation is excellent.

The government wants interlocutors to pacify the movement. Opportunists among yellow vests who try to begin a political career that way receive death treats so they won't do shit.

The french State is literally panicking right now because they don't know what to do. More cops are hurt than protestors. They want the military to protect official buildings now so they can send more riot police to beat the shit out of protesters.

And now highschoolers and students are beginning to move.

Politicians and intellectuals are shitting themselves right now. Stuffed as they are, they don't get how people want more bread.

Something is definitely happening.

I like that line. Captures there Marie Antoinette attitude of the intellectual class nicely.

Why does BO hate Jacobin?

Are you shocked? Libertarianism is tied with primitivism for the dumbest ideology possible award.

seriously what compels a person to become a /liberty/fag after learning the basics of 1929?

Libertarianism built itself on the theft of ideas and movements, so it should be no surprise that they'd do it again.

Their reasoning for the Stock Market Crash is the Federal Reserve.

Having been a libertarian, the common argument is that it was actually the governments fault by moving towards a gold-exchange standard by Keynes advice at the Genoa Conference rather then keeping with a gold standard and Roosevelt made the situation worse with his "socialist" programs. Yes, even in a market crash caused by instability, a loss in confidence in the economy, and investors pulling out of the market en masse because of such a loss of confidence and instability, Keynes and the governments "socialist" policies somehow are to blame. Believe me, when you're a libertarian and a crisis occurs, the first thing you'll look for is any government interaction or deviation from "free-market economics" as the source of the problem or as a perpetuation of those problems. A purely right-libertarian society could be formed tomorrow and any market problems that occurred in it would be chalked up to what limited government existed, crony capitalism, or "outside and internal forces" until the society was pushed to being reformed to fully ancap, leaving only the accusation of "outside and internal forces" left (statists, socialists, the unemployed, other opposing governments, etc.).

To be fair ☭TANKIE☭s do the same thing with “revisionism” instead of admitting that 20th century socialism may have suffered from structural failures.

CataloniANO

Libertarianism of the hard ancap variety isn't really a thing outside of Burgerland and maybe Brazil. It's like Zoroastrianism; pretty marginal on a historical scale and not worth thinking about very much.

I think it's a thing in the U.S. because Americans in particular grow up their entire lives hearing that socialism is a failure and a disaster, but the world (and their own country) is still really dysfunctional and messed up, so they in this ass-backwards way come to think the problem is not enough capitalism; and that the capitalism we have is not real capitalism. It's kind of like Trotskyism.

It’s a big thing in he US because billionaires pump endless funds into propaganda networks, “think tanks” and dipshits like Paul Ryan who drill that retarded crap into the heads of burgers.

That's very true, but I mean more the hard ancap shit. I say it's like Trotskyism in the sense that Trots believe the socialist societies of the 20th century "weren't real socialism." My response is yes, they had problems and failures but it had never been tried before.

The difference is that the ☭TANKIE☭s screaming about traitors and revisionists are the descendants of those were aligned with people who ran half the planet for the most of the 20th century. Ancaps, like Trots, have never been in power anywhere. Milton Friedman types did, but Murray Rothbard saw him as a statist. One of the odd and fun debates to read between them is Rothbard's view that Friedman wanted to achieve a kind of egalitarianism through capitalism, while Rothbard was like "egalitarianism!?!?"

This. Milo alone was given $500k by the Mercer family and was apparently financed by another multi-millionaire who recently died. The wealthy in the US are heavily committed to promoting their agenda to the public.

They are correct though. Compare the USA to Denmark. The USA is Corporatist if anything.

There is a way to fix this though, but that would require a Socialist Outlook on things.

Why the hell is everybody so pessimistic? This is the best news we've gotten in a long while

Nah, any british election can't happen until after new years now.

I think because they have an article celebrating fall of socialism in East Europe. They were also once retweeted by 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧victims of communism foundation🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

At first I thought they were referring to the Communist revolutions as democratic revolutions (which they were) and thought it was pretty based, bit its actually just liberal bullshit

There is more. There is one disgusting tweet I saw some time ago, but I can't find it now.
