Fucking bacteria almost wiped out life once by making too much oxygen. Mass extinctions happen a lot and the only reason we see "us" as different is because we have gigantic fucking egos and believe ourselves to be separate from nature as well as the fact that we have extreme short term vision and think what we know as "normal" has always been this way.
