Most ants don't really have a division of labour apart from the royal court that tend to the queens, and they aren't genetically different from the regular workers. Even in the case of supermajors (often wrongly labeled soldier ants), they will do much of the same work as their smaller sisters, just heavier lifting.
Ants are generally extremely versatile, as there are a lot of different tasks that need doing in an ant hill. The only real exception to this are ant societies that are completely specialized soldiers that enslave other ant species to do the working.
