You should always know the laws of your state, user. Today I learned that universities which receive state-funding have the authority to prohibit the use of their facilities for meetings or speaking from people who are members of "the communist party" (assuming that means CPUSA but either way it's still on the books, I could see this being applied broadly) in Ohio and that students here have to learn about the US, its history and Constitution before being taught about social issues, foreign affairs, the UN, world government, socialism or communism. Really makes me think.
Have to sign a form saying that you uphold the US Constitution to get any government job, even tangentially government-related like janitor. Then there's this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Control_Act_of_1954

You cannot be a member of a Communist Party and work as a teacher, judge or civil servant in Bavaria.
(They dont mind if ur a nazi tho)
Carson Bell
Totally not vague at all
Luke Cook
So can you be a Nazi and teach if you don't deny the Holocaust?
Grayson Cruz
When I immigrated into the United States, the application clearly asked if I was now or had ever been a member of the "Communist Party", or if I were in favor of the "doctrine of World Communism".
Juan Cook
There are some who are quite proud of the gas chambers and cremation ovens and want to bring them back.
Dominic Gray
So it's illegal to say the Holocaust didn't happen but legal to say it was justified and we should do it again, Germany is an awesome country
Singapore's Internal Security Act gives the government the power to, among other things, "prohibit the manufacture, sale, use, wearing, display or possession of any flag, banner, badge, emblem, device, uniform or distinctive dress or any part thereof."
Pic related is the only symbol prohibited right now, as far as I'm aware - five-pointed star, hammer and sickle. Accusing people of being commies and then indefinitely detaining them without trial has been a fairly popular approach here.
You are also prohibited from making a PhD as a communist.
Carter White
Malaysia's government can pretty much arrest you for breathing in a communist fashion.

In Australia in 1951 our post-war Conservative gov attempted to make even being a Communist in any fashion more or less illegal by changing the constitution to allow them to ban anything related to communism at all
B-but da commie jews are brainwashing americans through government education!
Lincoln Stewart
Britain doesn't have anything tbh, I mean orgs can be banned for be promoting terrorism but all of them have been AQ, Muslim brotherhood or Revolutionary fascists.

Praise be to the Eternal Anglo!
Thoughts on the Malayan Communist Party? I'm pretty sure that Singapore's education system hasn't imparted any useful information about them to me.

WHAT PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY MALAYSIA IS AN ACTUAL FUCKING MONARCHY THE EXISTANCE OF A FUCKING MONARCH UNDERMINES "DEMOCRACY" WHAT THE FUCK

I never got the impression that there was much more to the MCP than what I learned in school. Of course, the textbooks weren't exactly impartial about it, putting a lot of emphasis on how communism is a strongly atheistic movement as if that's a point against it, but there's a reasonable version of events if you read between the lines.
The MCP started organizing after Japan gutted the country and left. They tried to drive the British out too, by organizing strikes at first but eventually turning to shooting estate kulaks. The Brits opted to chase them into the jungles and bomb the shit out of them, and now there is no more MCP.
The PSM is the only leftist party left, but they're extremely weak as far as support goes.
The monarchy is weird like that. Its role is to sink resources like the British one during peacetime, then suddenly assume military control in times of crisis, as if some privileged inbred sicko is the most impartial moderator our country has.
Adam Price
Nah.

How long until the Verfassungsschutz comes down on this party hard? It’s not even subtle with the Cornflower and statements from the party leader about the muh “Volksgemeinschaft”. Is there a double standard versus Rechtsextremismus and Linksextremismus there?
Michael Myers
Of course my nigga. Look up the NSU murders. They roamed Germany for years killing immigrants and the Verfassungsschutz aka domestic intelligence agencies didn't even bat an eye. Look up NSU 2.0 which is a scandal that broke a few weeks ago. There are legit Nazi militia cells in the German military and police force (and in the civil service and in the justice system) with considerable influence. Germany is, no matter how hard the leftlibs try to act like it isn't, in its core still an ultra-conservative state filled to the brim with people with an Eurocentric superiority complex (conservative as not in "gay ppl r bad" but as in "europe shall rule over the world and capitalism shall remain in state for-fucking-ever")
Chase Garcia
Look at my third world comrades right here I love them do you have any leftisp parties(that are no illegal) down there
that's the German way dude, being very exact. Also some of the most popular AfD politicians used to be or are teachers
Chase Garcia
What did you put?

Last poster is right, it is illegal to call for another Holocaust. Honestly, all these Holocaust laws are fucking stupid. In the end they crack down on the most retarded shit (for example, the infamous "Auschwitz and the Great Alibi which was probably co-authored by Bordiga would be Holocaust denial in Germany) because it is full of moralistic and Zionist implications. For example, it is illegal to "deny the singular historical character of the Holocaust", so you can't compare it with another genocide, you probably can't even declare it as a result of capitalism - that would deny the "conspiratorial character of the Nazi's plan". The Holocaust laws are not "lefty" in Germany, they are part of the liberal hegemony, and they are directed against radically-left anti-Zionist critiques or Marxist analysis of the event even as much as they are directed against Nazis. The GDR had anti-Holocaust-denial laws that were materialist in character and not moralistic or spooked.
Brandon Carter
Interesting, any info? I can read enough German to get the gist if you do
Brody Stewart
Revolution is not illegal in most countries of civilized world.
Christian Gomez
I thought about it for a while, but ended up putting no, since a yes would cause a bureaucratic ass-pain. Though the CCA is probably unenforceable today, my lawyer advised against it, and my wife wasn't having any of it. Technically I was never a member of "the Communist Party" either… it was called something else.
Luis Turner
illegalizing ideas because it can be potentially dangerous is still infrnging on basic human rights. It's like I said that it's now illegal to take a shit because it might smell bad and I don't wanna smell it.
Basically the word "Holocaust" or "Shoah" was not used in the GDR (since they didn't come up before the 80s anyway) but simply called a genocide carried out by the fascist government, in which predominantely Jews, but also gays, gypsis, disabled, Poles, Russians, Lithuanians, etc. were exterminated. So basically, you couldn't deny there was a genocide, but there was no specific Jewish or moral narrative established, antisemitism was outlawed specifically though. It was argued, that many victims of the Nazis that weren't Jewish were ignored or even bullied in West Germany, which was correct. Nobody was interested in the stories of a Roma, a homosexual or a communist (till this very day the German government denies any compensation for communist victims that were gassed and only since 2016 (!!!) gays can receive compensation).
Charles Barnes
That sounds much more sensible. Everyone knows about the six million, but most don't remember the other eleven.
Is there a weirder system of monarchy?
Jonathan Fisher
Singapore's political parties, if anyone's interested A 'Socialist Front' party was formed a few years ago, talking about nationalising key industries and regulating "economy and the essential industries by legislation and allow true competition to surface to control prices and excessive profiteering," but they appear to be defunct.

Sun Yat-Sen was self described socialist who worked wit Comintern and had university named after him in Moscow.

Forgot to add than Sun Yat-Sen send Chiang Kai-shek to study in Moscow and organized Kuomintang along Leninist principles.

I forgot to add that Chiang Kai-shek' son Chiang Ching-kuo got his degree from Communist University of the Toilers of the East, same university that Deng Xiaoping and Hồ Chí Minh studied in.

Wtf? How? Why?

Sun Yan-sen, a self described socialist, was allied with Comintern and send Chiang Kai-shek to study politics in USSR and organized Kuomintang along Leninist organization. Chiang Kai-shek liked his studies so send his son to study in Moscow, same uni where Deng and Ho Chi Minh studied. Tito also studied in USSR, but different university.
Soviets also helped to create communist party of India, second most important Indian party in achieving independence, so USSR positively influenced two of most populous nations in the world. Jawaharlal Nehru, also a self described socialist, and friend of Mahatma Gandhi also liked Stalin and Soviet Union.
Sun was a national liberation leader first, and Georgism is liberal. This isn't to say he wasn't historically necessary, but, he wasn't a proper socialist.
lolol if you think the vs does anything against fascists or reactionaries you are dead wrong. the vs itself is literally stuffed with far-righters. vs undercover agents funnel state money, intel and other things to the far-right and they may cover up illegal shit far-righters aligned with the vs did with all means possible even before court. also high vs officials don't even hide their political affiliation with the far-right anymore. look at this sympathetic guy. he was the boss for a long time. a lot of very questionable things happened during his reign and he's known for uttering Zig Forums narratives and being politically close to the afd.
