I think that the most legitimate criticisms is that electoral politics is only really making us grow by getting more middle class people involved. They just happen to be white. A middle class organization is more likely to use moral arguments for reformism, rather than focus on a Marxist analysis. While many of the people in Spring may be Marxist, the organization they are building with the strategies is not.
I believe that Democrat Cops of America should focus more on campaigns that directly work in coalition with communities in working class neighborhoods. It might be weird seeing a bunch of "rich" white people in their late 20s in poor black neighborhoods at first, but it's the only way to create a mass movement.
A second criticism of Spring that's valid is that they are very secretive and cliquey. That may be partly a result of the how unstructured Democrat Cops of America is, but the action of Spring isn't really helping the situation. I don't know how Machiavellian they truly are as their reputation suggests, but they can definitely do things that seem as sneaky to the opposition. They would defend themselves as simply being strategic.
