Bringing US backed genocides to national news in relation to coup attempts against Venezuela has no strategic relevance for leftists? Is the potential, totally non-guarunteed prospect of the US getting half decent west european style healthcare after a Bernie presidency of compromise and disappointment more radical than trying to drive real wedges into the imperial narratives that allow actual socialist and independence projects in the 3rd world to be overthrown? I'm an American, I have shit healthcare and work a shit job and socdem countries look like fucking heaven compared to our bullshit, but the idea that the US will be able to implement some kind of Swedish social security system is very, very questionable to begin with, and even in the overly optimistic scenario in which it's possible to any extent, it would require the continued subjugation of most of the world, and eventually the erosion of even those hard won socdem reforms. The best hope of poor Americans is the death of American imperialism. Our future is tied up more in Maduro than Sanders.

American Disarmament of first strike weapons won’t happen because it isn’t in America’s self interest. This is especially true as American Imperialism falls apart, America will rely more and more on these weapons because It’ll prevent China from doing to them, what they did to the world. And at the end of the day people act in their self interest, and first strike weapons are incredibly useful, to useful to give up because of some moral principle. The only way America would disarm it’s self of first strike weapons is if it was forced to from the outside, and at that point is when they are used.
Because of MAD, America would only use these weapons for real if America first lost it’s position as an Imperial power, second it’s self-determination was threatened, and third was given an ultimatum to give up these weapons.
