Holy fucking shit this is scary. Could propagating this into the public, mainstream discussion be the catalyst of unrest we need?

'collapse is inevitable, catastrophe is likely and extinction is possible’

highly unlikely
there have been major warnings about what was coming since the late 60s/early 70s and they were completely ignored

It hasn't been presented in these terms.

If you're too lazy to even click a fucking link, just fuck off off this board.

I want this so bad. Even if every piece of bourgeois propaganda about Stalin and the Stalin era was correct it would still be the only way.

Bring back struggle sessions

mistakes are how we learn. "you can't have infinite growth on a finite planet" should be common sense but perhaps this is literally what it will take to discredit capitalism for all the galaxy brains out there

Will never happen everybody ITT should take their shizo meds because they clearly are off them, fucking consparitards.

Even motherfuckers in the 19th century pointed out this shit. Even Marx in Volume III

Denial is the first stage in handling grief.

Attached: cd7.jpg (720x245 191.45 KB, 46.91K)

Lies are the cement that holds a reactionary view together.

don't count on it. it could be half past the apocalypse and the cult of the free market won't be gone

On its own, anyway.

It needs to happen. There's no escaping it. I hope the seas rise, forests burn and all the weak low Autism Level niggers and degenerated starve. They deserve it for all they've done.

Low Autism Level*

They've done nothing. Capitalist scum is at fault.

Intelligence Quotient = autism lol

Where is this capitalism you speak of because i don't see it much. I see usury and mass enslavement through debt. Neither of which have anything to do with capitalism. I don't label myself a capitalist mind you but facts are facts.

Private property is private property, bitch

capitalism will continue to poison and damage the planet as long as it's profitable for them to do so. miss me with this apologist shit.

It is real capitalism. Real capitalism plus legal loan sharking and debt enslavement thanks to hand rubbing international kikes. Capitalism like any system is vulnerable to being hijacked. Just like socialism. Id rather have capitalism than communism. Communism is for lazy limp dick faggots who hatev work

Hahah, fucking kill yourself, burger.

Attached: Anon_with_Down_Syndrome.JPG (310x427, 28.89K)

why don't you man up and kick the kikes out of your fragile system

Not nuking USA was a mistake.

Attached: 1509816838641.png (211x239, 5.69K)

Constitution of the USSR stated very clearly that those who won't work, will also not eat.

Usury and debt enslavement is not the reason the sea levels are rising and nothing's been done about it. The reason is a system based on private property and competition which renders the economy to the whims of private interest and necessitates an infinite growth on a finite planet.

It would be nice but that's impractical at the moment. Unfortunately, we're still mostly blue-pilled. Not enough people will accept the truth. Also, thats not the only thing that needs to be done.

You are extremely near-sighted. If you honestly think capitalism is the root cause of all evil you're probably just enjoying LARPing as a sovietfag. Ill bet you have pictures of lenin stalin and marx up on your wall. Hammer and sickle shirts and shit. Have fun with that and the progress that will come of it.

Reminder that the USSR failed almost immediately after it was created and the US is still standing as a world super power.

Apparently, this paper has been making the rounds enough for Vice and Bloomberg to give it coverage. I don't know what to make of that, honestly.

Make no mistake, governments will engineer this collapse to their benefit, and only to their benefit.

Do you want to add to anything relating to the study?

Absolutely, but eco-stalinism was mentioned which is retarded. I don't think something that radical is required. "Eco- stalinism" just sounds like an excuse to implement communism so that does not contribute to anything except communism.

The US is Empire due to the sole fact we have global reserve currency status. However, this is now being challenged (has since 2014 by Russia and China). As more and more countries begin dumping the dollar for global trade, the economy will get a lot worse for America and due to mass debt insolvency you will see hyperinflation.

Exactly. They want you to see this. What they don't want you to know is WHY they want you to see this. As I said, make no mistake, a plan is in the works to engineer something catastrophic (blame it on all us plebs) and they have their little excuse to wipe us out before their Empire collapses…. Meanwhile the new Empire will be China/Russia. This was all planned.

Agreed. No disputing that the US doesn't have long before it collapses if it stays on its present course.

We could begin by addressing this:

news.sky.com/story/just-10-rivers-carry-90-of-plastic-polluting-the-oceans-11167581

Yes. Muh joos is correct. However im not a nazi.

could, but won't. the most that's likely to happen is a few hashtags run which riles up the liberals for a week or 2 while nobody else does anything

Sadly, thats true. But where do you imagine most of that plastic comes from? We could be able to cut off the supply of cheap plastic products that enter those countries that just dump it all into the oceans at least. Or greatly limit it. As for cleaning the rivers? Yeah not likely.

How are you not? Keep in mind the only acceptable answer is that you are literally part of the NSDAP because they don't exist anymore.

more awareness is rising of plastic in the oceans, which is something at least. for the time being, encourage recycling and keep away from excessive amounts of unrecyclable plastics.

Attached: BAC82B89-BAE8-4528-88DB-54ED96B8D504.png (800x729, 62.48K)

Im not because….im not. Simple as that.

I never said that. Of course capitalism contributes to the outstripping and pollution of the planet. But to say its the only thing responsible is short-sighted.

I would actually place a ban on the production of small throw away plastic products. Kids toys you find in gumball machines, six pack holders, kids toys in stores, plastic bottles, straws, etc. Just a straight ban on all that shit.

Only banning exessive plastics in consumer goods is a good start but I don't think it's nearly enough.

Alright. First off, are you sure you're in the right board, buddy? Now then, that post you are referring to isn't an "excuse" but rather a suggested guideline for any up-and-coming communist government to implement.

Hell no it aint enough. But i think itll have a large impact in the long run and even during our lifetimes. You have think of every thing that would effect. No demand for these products would also mean huge reduction in demand for petroleum as well which is good. That's only the beginning. I have other ideas.

Yeah this is where all the commies come to circle jerk right? Still sounds like communism for the sake of the planet to me. Dont lie about it. You're a communist. Be proud.

no one was lying about it????????????????????????????????

We all have ideas. They're a dime a dozen. That i isn't the problem. The problem is having the power to implement them and the question of even if have the time or inclination too.

You understand where you are, retard?
i'm not even a communist.

I meant don't lie about everything being an reason for communism

Of course. Shall we discuss ways to wake people in such a way that'll yield results?

Why would communists not think communism is the solution to climate change?

I personally don't believe it's possible. maybe 40 years ago with a radical change inlifestyle and population levels, maybe.. but not now, in 2019. But shoot, feel free to try to change my mind.

Attached: theguard.gif (600x450, 88.61K)

right now, it seems we do our best to spread leftist influence and when the collapse comes (and it will) we hope we're the ones left standing

The collapse will come and people will die. That's a fact. The question is how many people will actually die. And what kind of a society will we have when the worst hits

it's been all about damage control for a long time. nothing new here.

now's the time to be developing skills useful to longterm survival and rebuilding. fascsts will eternally crow about MUH ROPE DAY but it'll be a clusterfuck no matter who you ask

I dont believe anything will work either but i still like to discuss it anyway for ideas and such. I think the collapse NEEDS to happen and lots of people need to die.

Yea.. I live in a country where we all starve if the food supply lines shut down for whichever of the myriad of reasons that could be.

which country is that

tfw believe the climate is changing but not that humans have much to do with it
tfw its an even more morose position than human-caused apocalypse because it's completely out of our hands

Peanutbutter and bullets, fam. Solar panels if you can afford them.

potatos, comrade. they're hardy, grow basically anywhere, are filling and have a good amount of nutrients.

Not him, but he could refer to pretty much any first world country, except France.

I'm allergic to nightshades.

welcome to the right side comrade

sometimes you just gotta say fuck it.

tfw disregard empirical data and think ur opinion is worth the bandwidth carrying it
I'd hate to be shot by some retarded dude like you

I don't think capitalism is the root of all evil nor do I believe socialism is the answer to everything. But socialism is necessary to solve this particular problem and your inability to produce a single coherent argument shows you also know this on some level.

Please enlighten me, what outside of the mode of production that isn't connected to it at all is contributing to the ecological crisis? Hard mode: dont say Jews in your post

I love how it's the actually important high concept threads that without fail get the most effort to derail with jew bullshit. Stop replying to a retard who is obviously trying to steer the discussion away from real problems and get back on topic.

This. Report and move on.

Eco-fascism is coming, mark my words; It'll be silly and mythical at first but as the seas rise and turn to acid the genocidal pigs in america will only cry louder

Doesn't anyone feel like something should be done about this? I know we all are going full doomer in this thread but it won't accomplish anything.

I think the most important thing would be to push this to the mainstream consciousness through social media and any Leftist publications with even moderate reach.

Not in the way this thing has been communicated until now, like "yea things are looking bad and we should prolly do something abboudit". But "Near term human-extincion is a distinct possibility, and social collapse is an inevitability. Your government knows this and is planning for it, and their plan is to leave you to starve. You and your children will die of hunger and exposure. Kill the fuckers while you still have time."

I'm so sick of people on the internet pretending like all this stuff isn't in mainstream consciousness and hasn't been for decades. We've known it's really really fucked for so long to the point that people are just exausted of thinking about it. The problem isn't people not knowing the problem is people havin more urgent problems (like putting bread on the table) and having no power.

See this fucking shitbrain:

It’s the primary driving force, and no solution is possible as long as it exists. Capitalism dictates that the basis of all economic activity is profit, and thus it makes the careful and rational distribution of resources to other ends on a macro level impossible.

My only solace is that useful idiots for the ruling class like this will also be killed when climate disasters start escalating.

Really makes me despise these liberals who talk about Brexit and 'populism' as if they were apocalyptic events. They actually believe that the generations to come will look back on us and think we were too angry about the way things were going. That we were too hostile to the status quo.

Attached: tenor.gif (320x180, 3.5M)

If social systems in advanced states begin to collapse I don't see how we don't avoid nuclear war. There will be two competing tendencies, the desire to suppress all dissent inside the state and the desire to accumulate more dwindling resources in order to shore up power in the global pecking order, and to even continue to pay off the population for its loyalty (since the powerful still fear internal chaos).

The former will lead to genocidal police states, the latter will lead to global conflicts over "rightful" ownership of this or that resource, or "freedom", or "ways of life" etc. The developed countries will have to butt heads, and too many enemies already have nukes, let alone what are currently allies.

I want to believe what was implicit in Cockshott's last video, that the instability will heighten the chance of revolution considerably, and I do believe that, but I also don't see right-headed revolutions happening in every relevant country at the same time. All it takes is the ruling class of a couple of major, nuclear capitalist powers to hold on to their control of the state, and they'll eventually pre-emptively launch their fucking nukes. And then everyone else is going to go haywire and we're done, literally The Road tier. Literally Mad Max scenarios are possible, gangs and their warlords fighting over small patches of territory in the husks of old states, maintaining slave societies, committing almost unimaginable acts of sadism to scare their enemies.

Climate Change is pretty bad, but theirs nothing to indicate that it will cause a collapse of civilization, the state, and Industrial society.

(you)

I was thinking more in the lines of effective propaganda. Yes, people know in the abstract that "shit's pretty fucked up", but it isn't communicated to them in concrete terms which would force them to think about this in terms of their own lives. People hope "well I hope it won't happen in my lifetime". What is not said often enough is, "it likely will".

What is not said is that we're already in the end game, that there are two sides and only one side is playing.

got a link to the video?

Try doing a bit of research within the broad spectrum of collapse topics and see how they interact with eachother - not just on climate change, but on soil erosion, plummeting EROEI from fossil fuels, the growing scarcity of minerals needed for large scale industrial agriculture and the impact that a hotter, more dynamic climate has on agriculture, the extreme loss of biodiversity related to human expansion (especially regarding insects - the base of life's food chains in a lot of cases), read about ocean acidification and overfishing, read about feedback loops in climate systems which remove humanity's ability to combat rising temperatures, read about how the prevalence of CO2 impairs proper cognitive functioning, read about how wealth inequality and collapsing financial systems can cause social unrest which further destabilizes all of the existing human systems, understand how social unrest and scarce resources at a time of unprecedented surveillance could have a tendency of leading to fascist and corporate-backed powergrabs which also exacerbate all of the above, etc. etc. (if you want a really long-ass list of a lot of factors that revolve around collapse with links to a lot more reading, check out this link- medium.com/@Cliffhanger1983/the-collapse-of-civilization-manifesto-2039c6a5327).

Everybody I interact with who has taken an honest appraisal of our collective situation relative to these topics and how they relate and compound one another recognizes that there is essentially no hope for industrialized society at scale persisting through this century. There may yet be islands of civilization - modern day green-zones in a sea (or rather, a desert) of violence and strife, but the big picture for most of humanity is extremely bleak going forward.

Put differently, it isn't merely climate change that threatens us - it is a massive web of interacting and overlapping factors which are what doom our species. Climate change is just one factor, albeit a large force multiplier for most other factors.

Materialist dialectics, essentially. Apply them.

Attached: GlobalHeatMap_1880_2018.mp4 (660x328 392.4 KB, 246.47K)

The evidence that Climate Change will cause mass austerity is pretty overwhelming. But at the end of the day it can’t destroy Industrial Civilization because at the end of the day their is no prediction that Earth will be uninhabitable.

most land isn’t used for agriculture. Also diets can be enforced, and more intensive foods can be reduced (meat)

Nuclear and renewable energy is growing. Also their’s lot’s of oil and coal reserves left. Lower EROEI makes thinks a bit harder but far from impossible. We’re very far from the point wheir were barely breaking even in terms of EROEI.

Again at a worse case scenario food intake will be cut. Lab grown meats are very close to coming into fruition.

See previous point.

Their is also negative feedback loops, such as when temperatures rise cloud cover increases. Which reflects light. A million years ago Earth had similar CO2 levels to present day.

This doesn’t happen tell CO2 reaches 900 PPM. Were at 411 PPM.

A colapse of a financial or economic system doesn’t end society. The Means of Production still exist. All that happens is that the general system is changed. When the current liberal order collapses what follows it might be communism, it might be fascism, but society will reproduce it’s self.

A lot of means of production will be useless because of the change.

Lol no, a factory is a factory.
