The horrors of capitalism combined with the various drugs capitalist pharmaceutical companies push on everyone creates an unstable mind in many, opening them up to deep influence by the capitalist identity politics campaign to give people an alternative explanation for the sufferings they instinctually realize they are suffering. The problem for me at least is the way in which they view and propagate a hyper-feminized view of women. It's unhealthy for everyone involved imho.

If a man wants to dress as a woman, sure that's fine. In certain circumstances, crossdressing has been used to insult and demean woman, but crossdressing isn't inherently sexist, and has a history within gay communities.

But this doesn't change the fact that they are a man. In general, they are born with a penis, have testosterone, have been raised as a man, etc. Dressing like a girl doesn't MAKE you a girl.

A comparable analogy would be some scrawny guy who wanted to be a body builder, who requires you to pretend that he is in great shape, otherwise you are literally committing violence towards him.

A lot of the time, it seems to be some COINTELPRO shit. I'm not saying its a conspiracy, but trans issues, which effect such a small portion of the population, dominate so much of the discussion in left-wing places. Additionally, any position on gender that doesn't mesh with the dogma of "TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN," which is pure idealism and incompatible with a materialist analysis of gender necessary to approach oppression based upon sex and gender, are met with screams of "TERF!!!!!!!" and exclusion from left-wing organizations. This is, by definition, discord. I don't think they themselves are aware of this, but people are heavily pushing the trans lobby, which can damage cohesion in leftist spaces.

Why definitive? There is heuristic, scientific evidence that there really are different brain patterns for males and females. There's also the fact that HRT helps get rid of dysphoria, while it doesn't get rid of, EG, schizophrenic delusions of being transgender.

Somehow, it's treated by HRT, which suggests that their brains really do respond favorably to female hormone levels. There is scientific evidence that the brain is not magically exempt from sexual dimorphism. THINK for a moment, how fucking crazy it would be if males and females have subtle and not-so-subtle differences in all other parts of their body, but not their brains. THINK about other animals– they CLEARLY have sexual dimorphism in their brains. Yet somehow humans are totally exempt? There is a plain scientific explanation for dysphoria, and it's that it's literally just people with opposite-sex brains.

Its not just "wanting" a different body, its claiming that they HAVE a different body (in the body building example), and that everyone who doesn't go along with it is a horrible person.

Man and woman isn't simply defined by physical appearance. It is possible for a man to look extremely feminine, or a woman to look extremely masculine. It is possible for a man to want to look like a woman, and for a woman to want to look like a man. Trans people want the body of the other sex, and want people to CONSIDER them the other sex as well.This is thought control. It is considered transphobic for a straight man to not want to sleep with a biological male because they are a biological male, or for a lesbian to exclusively want to sleep with biological females.

I don't know how it could be proven that it's their brains responding to the HRT. The physical changes produced by the hormones, and the pure placebo effect, undoubtedly have a psychological impact.

Of course there are mental traits associated with masculinity and femininity, but these are not definitive of the genders. Being attracted to women is a typically masculine trait but that doesn't mean that gay men aren't men. Autism is a very masculine trait but some women have it too.

You know as a person that struggled with the idea that they are in the wrong body and shit and doesn't know a lot about science and everything, my first thought is; its an illness. And illness need cures. Now the so called "transition" would relegate me to a life of exclusion and discrimination, struggling with social relationships, enormous spendings. I'll never transition, it would just make my life shittier; in fact Id gladly swallow pills that make my brain not funny, so i can finally live in peace in my current, not-hormonally-altered body. But these pills do not exist and will never exist under capitalism because it is NOT PROFITABLE, trans people are too few of a percentage of people and buy a lot of shit to fix themselves if you dont cure them for real.

Neoliberalism is driven by the sacrifice of exceptions to the rule and individuals on the fringes take the full brunt of the callous indifference of capital. The most marginalized among us are the most important to the revolution and in fact the key to highlighting the contradictions of capitalism that others may have missed. That's a broad generalization. I'm trans, have many friends who are, who are very active socialists and don't have anything to do with identity politics, only class based struggles that will in the end break the systemic oppression of Capitalism. I personally don't like a majority of the trans community because they make everyone hate them even more instead of just trying to blend in like many of us want to. Its like they're trying to make a third gender for me me me attention. Nobody who isnt trans is ever going to understand it either, even I have no fucking clue.

Yeah most trans people you meet you will never notice because they "pass" (I don't know if that's the right word but I'm not trying to be prejudiced). I worked a retail job and we had at least one trans customer who no one in the store would ever necessarily notice was M-to-F. Eventually we got to know her some more, became friendly, and one time we teamed up to play a practical joke on the boss, like she'd go up to the boss, who'd be like "how can I help you ma'am" and then she'd drop her voice really low into a bass "I HAVE A QUESTION SIR."

Then all the other employees burst out laughing. That was fun. It was her idea too. Anyways it's not really a big deal.

I was going to add this was a regular customer who we got to know over a long period of time. The boss never figured it out which is why it was funny. She had a hunky, Army veteran husband too.
