I don't know how it could be proven that it's their brains responding to the HRT. The physical changes produced by the hormones, and the pure placebo effect, undoubtedly have a psychological impact.
Of course there are mental traits associated with masculinity and femininity, but these are not definitive of the genders. Being attracted to women is a typically masculine trait but that doesn't mean that gay men aren't men. Autism is a very masculine trait but some women have it too.

You know as a person that struggled with the idea that they are in the wrong body and shit and doesn't know a lot about science and everything, my first thought is; its an illness. And illness need cures. Now the so called "transition" would relegate me to a life of exclusion and discrimination, struggling with social relationships, enormous spendings. I'll never transition, it would just make my life shittier; in fact Id gladly swallow pills that make my brain not funny, so i can finally live in peace in my current, not-hormonally-altered body. But these pills do not exist and will never exist under capitalism because it is NOT PROFITABLE, trans people are too few of a percentage of people and buy a lot of shit to fix themselves if you dont cure them for real.
So, what does this blogpost amounts to? The thing that i'm explaining is that 1 its ok to "transition" or whatever, but its important to remember that transexuality is an illness because it makes your life shit 2 there is no place for trans rights fights in socialist politics. Now I am against discrimination, but basically by putting le acceptance meme in the same tier as the socialist revolution one is doing a disservice to trans people because obtaining socialism, the main goal, means getting mental cures. 3 anti trans people are like i dont know "anti depression" people holy fuck, whats even the point.
I'm actually for the withering away of a lot of gendered norms for the very far future, but right now its a dream, pragmatism is important.

There actually is a solid body of evidence of observable neurological differences in trannies, and most of the results have been replicated consistently. The liberal postmodern 500-genders bullshit is almost entirely unrelated to transgenderism from a psychiatric perspective; most "check your privilege" types have likely never experienced GD and only want an excuse to berate others in public without repercussions.
Trans identity politics are as garbage as the rest, but stigma against the mentally ill is a very real issue since most mentally ill people are not actually insane, and trying to normalize them has long since been proven ineffective.
