What gives you hope for the future?

Paul William Cockshott teachings

Read the second law of thermodynamics and understand its future implications on our known universe. There’s literally fuck all to be excited about especially as we are currently living in EJ Hobsbawm’s age of extremism. The only thing that might get my pee pee to stand is that prospect we might potentially solve our missing matter problem and figure out what the fuck “dark matter” and “dark energy” are in my lifetime. The longer I live, the more numb and the less optimistic I become to/about reality.

Protip: you won’t change my mind.

Edit: Is this the real life or is this just fanta sea? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality. Nothing really matters, anyone can see. Nothing really matters, to me.

In a sense they already are. Or rather, they're the first storm warning that what is already a global phenomena will be hitting the West. For evidence, look at the mass strikes in India. If the recession the DOW-fags are right, it's just a taste for what's to come.

Entropy won’t cause the heat death of the universe for another quadrillion years thats 1,000,000,000,000,000 years. It’s hardly a worry for right now.

So some thousands of years of human history are meaningful to the universe then? That sure is reassuring, captain helpful. I’ll be sure to check back in periodically every 10^9 years or so give or take a few billion to see how I’m faring in my optimism. Thank you good and kind user.

The fact that talk about a "zero-growth economy" and "economic democracy" is slowly moving into the political mainstream. We're in a repeat of history, but still in the era of utopian socialism. Soon conditions will become bad enough for scientific socialism to make its comeback. There's a need to synthesize modern bourgeois economic theory into a true proletarian science once again.

that Life will struggle to the end

Jesus is coming back soon

I totally understand what you mean. Obviously as socialists we like workers but your point is a really huge thing that ends up happening. Even Trotsky once said something like "it's difficult for me to have empathy for people that have tolerated their oppression for so long".
