He, like all atheist from the current and most recent generation is a product of degeneracy. If he had a stronger familial unit that was dedicated to Christ, he may have found a different road and would not have become the center of a joke. It's more sad than anything.
hopefully he had a changing experience while he was in there, the approach of death can scare peoples "beliefs" right away. Pray for his soul, was probably a nice kid.

Also, he hardly seems to have been a militant atheist of the kind OP is making fun of, if he even was an atheist at all. A quick look at his Facebook shows him thanking a person who said she will pray for him, no hate towards Christianity, and his obituary does talk about God. It seems he was just a standard nerd.
