It's a sin to take the Lord's Supper if you aren't saved. I don't see why you're posting that.

The publican recognized his bad works and asked for mercy. Asking for mercy is a work, is it not? It's certainly not faith. Of course, you need to have faith to ask for mercy, but the asking for mercy is a good work.

And what is the Lord's Supper? St. Paul seems to be referring to a present event, something that the Corinthians were actively doing, and were condemning themselves to death in doing falsely.

No, because they're lacking in works, is what the passage goes on to say, not because they trusted in works. Although trusting in works will negate authentic faith.
